A loud crash and spine chilling shrill came from one of the cabins, causing Hyacinth to jump out of her skin as she passed by. After a short pause, she took up her curiosity and sought out the poor soul who had fallen victim to one of the pranks left unattended. A dirty trick set by someone in the kit-gangs that had assembled, thriving in the competitive itch for team points.
As she approached, she discovered a sniffling mess on the tiny steps of a sunflower team cabin. She was a rather pretty looking creature, but one glance and it was made obvious that her tail was nothing but a sopping, dissolved pile next to her. Horrified that her own team members would dare do such a thing without consideration for others, Hyacinth marched her way calmly towards the creature and offered her personal towel from her backpack.
“My condolences, from the bottom of my heart, for the actions of my team.” She said, “Please hold on to that as long as you need to.”
Before Hya walked away, she gathered up salvageable pieces of the make-shift tail that had belonged to the opposing kit, and took off without another word. She felt really bad for her, but as the daughter of a model, things like fashion dilemmas happened continuously. She did what came to her as a first response, and quickly sought out materials. This task wouldn’t be easy, but it had to be done, in the name of fashion, it absolutely must be done!
She got to work immediately, the pattern of the sweet little kit had a vision of stained glass windows dancing in Hya’s mind, she couldn’t resist the temptation. It was a know phenomenon for this young kit to some how acquire things that would have been thought as un-acquirable in the given circumstance, would it have been anyone else. By sunset, Hyacinth had pulled together four glass jars of sand, a handful of dye and paint variety, a full spool of wire, and authentic alpaca’s wool.
With every moment she could spare during the next week that passed, Hya remained faithful to her commitment, and worked patiently on the tail. She followed closely to the pattern she had sketched up on multiple formats, and in many angles. The time it took was tedious, and she had to sneak away to a secret location just to work on the glass at all. Using a frying pan and a latch lid, set in the fire she built just to melt the glass enough to pour into the wire molds.
When she saw it fit, Hyacinth took the finished product back to Kamp. She knocked on the door, where the shame-filled darling had been hiding herself away. Hya held it out, offering it up to her as a sign of apology that wasn’t truly her’s to offer.
“Where did this come from?” She beamed, her diamond pupils sparkling with disbelief and awe.
“Never mind that, try it on.” Hya shooed the kalon inside, only to be greeted once more with her sheepishly pausing with the tail just visible from the door. “Wow, look at you sporting a pretty new tail, how does it feel? It’s lined so unfortunately the point of glass being see-through in contradicted but-.”
“H-how could I repay you?”
Hya shrugged with a half smile, “just enjoy your tail and the rest of Kamp is all.”
