Why: Felice likes watching the stars and listen to the wildlife at night. If you stay really still and quiet, you may even be lucky enough to see some of the critters near you. Few other people see the appeal though, and tend to make a ruckus and be unable to sit still. Most others are too brightly coloured as well, Felice thanked his parents' genetics for giving him a dark coat that blends into the shadows. Others tend to judge Felice for what he likes as well. It's just easier to be alone at this point, alone with nature all around and nobody to judge him, nobody to scare away the beautiful wildlife and disrupt the peace and quiet. He didn't like his concentration broken.

Why: Copper stared into the darkness, aware that the other kalon was giving her an odd look. They didn't understand. Nobody at Kamp seemed to. Well, I might as well explain myself, and give them a chance she thought to herself, After all, I shouldn't judge him like that -and I don't want him to judge me like that either. So she continued "I don't think you understand... Don't take me wrong, I love Kamp, and although some of the kalons in charge seem a little weird, some of them are really nice, just as the other kampers are... I really wish I could be friends with them all, but the thing is, I really don't talk much...", she paused, "The first day, everyone was nice to me, and tried to get me to open up and be friends with them, but I'm just not a talkative person, so they gradually lost interest, and now, whenever they're sitting around having a conversation, I feel like an intruder, listening to them, because I just can't help it. I'd rather be alone. That's why I'm here" . Copper stopped and waited in silence for a response.

why:
"shadows are like a cloak of sorts. hide you from watching eyes. keep you safe from harm through the night, or, on the other hand, mask enemies whose teeth are often based and fangs shown and wait to pounce on victims. i'm different from those examples. i use it to hide from the beast who chase after me in both the sunlight and moonlight. it acts as my protector, my shield from harm.

"with that, you seem to see that i'm one to often use it, right? wrong, it can be a friend or a foe. it just depends on who you are. like now, you seem to be a child of the light and the shadows often consume the light children in darkness. in my case, both can do at times. sometimes it is lush like this forest, or other time when there is barely a shadow in sight.

"even through the shadows are my friends, they still are out of my control." he said before vanishing off into the shadows.

ROUND TWO

Your flashlight flickers a bit. Well, okay, it's not dead dead, but it's not working well either. You whack it about and eventually it lands near the strange kalon's tail, however, you can't... make out a shine.

For this round, design a shine for this kalon! It must be drawn. Doesn't have to be a good drawing, I just need a visual to go off of. It must be the color of the kalon's eyes.
You may add highlights and shading, but the shine can only be one color. You can even leave it uncolored, it's just I'll fill it with that color.

His shine shows embers blowing in the wind through a forest (his place of safety); perhaps a fire is about to start. It could be read as a symbol of his constant paranoia, so much that heavy, heart wrenching dread may as well be this permanent part of him.
