“Why don’t you want to come back to camp? There are others there to be around and have fun with!” Piper coaxed.
He looked at her with what looked like a glare so she backed up a little and moved from foot to foot in nervousness. He sighed and turned away, “That is why, I seem to make others feel uncomfortable no matter what I do. So it’s just better if I stay here all alone and comfortable by myself rather than worrying about what others are thinking about me. It’s just better this way. Everyone will feel better if I’m just not around.”

Piper moved a little closer and stopped. “But what about you? You don’t seem to be feeling ok with this.”

Jacque started to walk away but stopped for a moment to respond. “I am ok with it, because if no one knows I’m here then there is no one to be made uncomfortable so I’m feeling great and I know all the good hiding places around here anyways. I can explore on my own without anyone’s interference. Now go back to camp and forget about me, I’m fine.”

Nox was always antisocial,he perfected to be alone and considered other Kalons extreme nuisances.
One day a kit mas murdered near where he was living(still with his mother because he didn't want a job near other Kalons),he was taken to court as a suspect.

When the court saw how little he cared and a few coincidences in the evidence. He was charged and sentenced him to life in prison.

It was torture for him.the rough guards,the poor food,the gangs, the invasion of his privacy at random times,
And all the other prisoners thought he had killed a kit so they treated him horribly and attacked him.
Eventually he managed to escape.
He began living like a wild animal in a forest and became nocturnal.
He despises Kalons for what they did to him

Her fur bristled, she heard something coming, the strong scent of mint.
She peeked her head through the leaves cresting her fur. Her eyes bore into the soul who had met her gaze.They stumbled a bit, but continued to look at her. They asked questions she couldn’t answer with a solid yes or no, and they dug into her head. There was a final question that hit her hard, taking her back to when she ended up here. Why? Why doesn’t she just go back to their Kamp. Why is the sky blue? Why is water wet? Why do birds fly?
”I....I don’t know”

The child seemed threatening and hurt, wanting no more to do with us, so we let her go in the woods

She didn’t remember her parents, all she remembered was the freedom, and the hardships.

saki clutched his backpack tightly.

he had dropped his flashlight in the lake earlier, and now he sat in complete darkness. for the past few minutes he felt the boat rock uneasily. he was filled with dread, until the clouds parted and a moonlit figure was revealed. another lost kalon.

the boy nearly ran out of his own skin while his companion busied himself. saki fumbled in his bag for a note and pen while the other was distracted. the kalon had eyes as big as saucers, and a seemingly siamese face. but this was no time to gaggle.

“do you know ASL?” his handwriting was shaky from the rockiness of the lake. saki wouldn’t be able to keep up writing. with unsteady hands he held the pad to the other male. to his surprise he nodded and signed “how are you?” saki looked in disbelief that he could be so nonchalant.

“good. why are you out on the lake?” he tried, squeaking when the boat vibrated with laughter. “i want to be alone,” he signed. “at the lake no one can judge you.” saki felt his heartstrings tug, he slowly signed “judge?”

“judge you for what you look like.”

“How did you end up here?” Ares calmly asked, approaching the other kalon calmly and steadily.

“I have always been here. I have never left and I didn’t show up here” the other kalon backed away, seeming to not wish to talk anymore.

“Im Ares, just like you want to be alone, but, if I’m going to help you, you’re going to have the tell me the truth” Ares wasn’t sure if the other kalon wasn’t telling the truth, he just had a sneaking suspicion.

“Fine” he paused “My name is Basil, I got here by accidentally getting lost in the woods after the test of courage, now I want to stay here, so leave me alone!”

Ares knew that wasn’t true, Basil was just embarrassed.
“We’ll wait here till morning to go back, something tells me waiting till it’s light will be better”
With that, Ares sat down and leaned against a tree, he watched as Basil became comfortable aswell.
At least we made some progress.

I truthfully respond with these words,“How could I not prefer to be alone? It’s quieter, there’s no one to tell me what to do, say, or think, there is no lies in the forest, and all of those mean that I can truly think, learn about our world, and be myself. I wasn’t planning on returning to the noise of civilization until I learned all I possibly can about the world and myself, but you showing up means that it’s probably best to venture near it so that you can rejoin their mess and leave me to my solitude again. Remind me, what was your mame again?”
“Pip, and you never asked before this moment,” the kid says.
“Sorry, then I must not have introduced muself either. My name is Lelin. I’ll lead you back to the cacophony of your camp, as I am the one who knows this forest best. At least, I will as long as you stay quiet,” I tell Pip.

“When you’re with others it’s… well, it’s unpredictable. I’m sensitive to noises. Others just don’t seem to care as they continue to shout and shriek with their friends. They’re selfish, it gives me a headache and they don’t care about my feelings at all.

I like peace and quiet. Sure, it can be horrible sometimes but you get used to it. You also get used to the stabs of loneliness in the pit of your stomach. But that’s inevitable if you shut yourself out from the world. It’s painful at first, but in the end, its better to be alone than to be surrounded by others that don’t care for you… I’ve tried to make friends with others before but the rejection hurts way more than it does to be lonely.”

I couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t want to come back with us. He wouldn’t even show himself to us, staying in the shadows of a nearby tree.
“If you’re worried that there won’t be anything to do, there’s lots of fun activities, and you always have the opportunity to make new friends, everyone is super nice!”
He replied with a sad smile as he shook his head.
“I really mean it! Besides, what reason could anyone possibly have not to talk to you?”
He stared at me for a few seconds before mouthing
I can’t speak.
“Oh.” I remarked, fidgeting with my broken flashlight. “Does… does that make people ignore you?”
He nodded.
“Can you write what you want to say?”
Another nod.
“Do you… want to talk with people? Make some friends?” I was careful to speak invitingly. The last thing I wanted was for him to be bothered.
He hesitated before nodding again, his shoulders drooping a little and his eyes looking to the ground.
“So why don’t you come back with us?”
Because no one will judge me here.
I held out my paw, smiling.
“No one will judge you there, either”

"They have light."

The disdain those words carried, as if it was something disgustingly foul, made Eliza shuffle on her feet and hid the dead flashlight behind her back. Yet, they didn't sound sincere enough.

"They are too many, too noisy, an unnatural congretation."

Appearently, he wasn't done yet. His words didn't seem as heavy as the previous ones, and still felt devoid of absolute honesty.

However, Eliza nodded agreeing on the too many part. And well, yeah, young kits could get noisy. But she said nothing, maybe letting the guy ramble a little would help him feel better.

"And there is someone there," Vlad almost whispered, "I dont want them to know I'm here."

His steps were loud in the practically quiet forest, but they were getting away. Eliza quickly followed him, only guiding herself by the sound. It was too darned dark to see a thing.

When he rushed his steps, so did she. There was no way on Earth she would stay alone in this place.

Why: Tikki prefers to be alone, not completely because he’s an introvert, but because he is quite the proud kalon. His hobbies are exploring and, much to his own embarrassment, studying flowers. He doesn’t deem the flower picking and pressing into a book an admirable pass time, especially since he spends so much time doing it, and the thrill of exploring even around a small wooded area is hard to resist (and an excuse to go find new plants). What had happened on this specific occasion was that he kind of.... lost track of time and it was sunset before he even looked up. Tikki had gotten a bit lost at that point and felt a great relief once he saw the flashlight of kampers, but claimed that he could make it on his own just fine for pride’s sake.

He ended up following the kampers back anyway, though he stuck to the shadows in order to preserve his “tough adventurer” vibe.
