Name wrote:This girl has long since forgotten the name she once carried. A name doesn't matter if there's no one to call her by it. She's heard people call her Waif, though she doesn't remember where that name came from. Still, she says that as her name, even if it isn't truly. It is better than saying she cannot remember hers. Plus, she doesn't usually have to supply one. It is only on the off chance that someone does choose to approach her that she must do that, and most are too frightened to approach the wolf no one understands.

Gender wrote:Waif is a female, and seeing as it is one of the only things she remembers about herself thanks to her curse, it is one thing she is very firm on. If you get it wrong, she will correct you with little hesitation, though she doesn't have to correct people very often. After all, it isn't common that she even gets to interact with anyone.

Dream wrote:Waif only has one wish in life, one dream that she pursues. That is to break the curse that was placed on her as a little girl. It was a curse of twofold, to punish her family for a wrong they'd committed. She was cursed to forever be forced to wander the earth, never able to stay in one place for long. She has to always be traveling, and while this may seem fun, it means she can never set down any roots. Even if she likes a place and would wish to live there, she can never dwell for too long. If she does, she will begin to grow sick. At times, it can get to the point where she is coughing up blood if she stays long enough. Sooner or later, she always caves and keeps going. However, Waif is certain that if she was to refuse to leave, if she stuck through the pain and stayed, she would die. The coughing up blood was a good indicator for that. Because of this, Waif has seen many places. She doesn't try to grow attached to anyone, just drifting about, not even bothering to take in all the things she sees anymore. Sure, it may be better than being dead, but she's not truly living either. At times, Waif wonders if it's even worth it to keep going when it will always just be her wandering the world, with no one to care for her and nowhere to call home.

However, the second part of her curse is the more brutal of the two. Waif has been cursed with insanity, and it plagues her wherever she goes. This is the part that makes her all the more desperate to break the curse. If she keeps moving, she keeps it at bay, but even before she gets sick, her insanity will worsen the longer she stays. She is terrified that one day it will drive her mad and she will completely lose it, becoming a danger and liability for everyone. This is what keeps her from having companions on the journey with her. It's what has caused her to forget her name, and what exactly her family did to cause her to be cursed. In fact, it's what causes her to forget so much, and to often be unpredictable. If this were not part of her curse, Waif would not hate it so much, but now she feels as if she has a race against the clock, for she knows sooner or later she will tire of running and let her sanity slip away. After all, how long will it be before she doesn't even remember why she's running?

Story of the Curse wrote:The memory had long since been lost among the madness and midst that consumed Waif's mind. Devoured, Waif did not often take the time to dwell on the chunk that was missing. There was not much reason to dwell on what brought the curse upon her, for it was much more beneficial to dwell on how to change things.

But there was a time when Waif did remember such things. A time when these things mattered to Waif. A time when Waif was not known by that name, but by another: Calliope Soun.

It was her parents doing. They were the ones who had sentenced her to this fate. For they had needed money, badly, and their jobs were not sustaining their incredibly large family. There were rumors of a treasure nearby, the treasure of one the village cited as a goddess, and said treasure was said to be enough to sustain a family forever. Calliope had not wanted to risk it. While she did not believe in any goddess, she did believe in what she had heard one wolf - deemed madman by the rest of the village folk - call dires, who weld enough power to make themselves seem equal to forces of nature. Who weld enough power to command your respect, attention, devotion, and worship.

So though Calliope protested against it, her parents urging eventually wore her down, and they sent her to retrieve it. Sick to her stomach the entire time, she crept towards what appeared to be a decrepit temple, her head screaming for her to turn back and lie to her parents by saying she had not found the place they had told her about. But she entered anyways, and with the place in shambles, it was easy to find the treasure. Easy to drag it out of the temple. Easy to take it home. Easy to not be cursed in the process.

Too easy.

Her parents reveled in the riches. Calliope had saved their family, according to them. They'd never have to work, or even worry, again. She was a hero.

It was all too good to be true, and it came crashing down the next morning when their door was burst down. The pieces were put together too late as the wolf howled in anger. It was one of the dire the madman had described, one the village viewed as a goddess. The rightful owner of the treasure, Vatia screamed curses upon the family for what they had done, demanding to know who had committed the deed.

And Calliope had. She stood up and took the blame, though her parents gave weak protests that it was their fault. And it had been. Calliope knew that, deep down. They forced her to do it, guilting her over and over till she agreed. But what was done was done, and Calliope had to face that.

Even if the thought made her despair.

And so the goddess cast a powerful curse, one with two sides, to punish both the actual thief and the two who had forced her into it. Calliope had tried to stay in her home upon her parents' insistence, at least at first, but the whispers in her head became all too much. She left in the dead of night, with just a note hastily scribbled and barely legible left to explain.

It was all there, somewhere, though long since made unobtainable to Waif after the time she'd spent alone. Perhaps, in the end, that was a blessing instead of a curse. She could not be bitter with her parents or the cursebringer if she didn't even know who caused it.

"I want to wipe out the red from my ledger."
~ Black Widow

Definition of Phrase: It's a book-keeping term. Black ink means profit and red ink means debt.

Name:
Chell

Gender:
Cisgender Female

What do they dream of doing?
Chell dreams of one day being able to be able to have her own biker group. She's a pretty hardcore wolf, so she puts a lot of emphasis on doing extreme things. She's never put much stock in owning material items, and she much prefers to be harsh towards those whom she doesn't trust. She'd rather beef herself up and not look so weak and puny due to her size, as looking aggressive and acting aggressive can often save her from getting into unnecessary fights. Chell's dream is that she'd get to one day have her own biker group because whoever heard of someone stupid enough to fight or take on bikers?! Nobody messes with that kind of tough crowd, and Chell wants in on that elusive world that she is so close to entering into. She's put in countless hours at her local gym, buffing herself up and gaining muscle. She loves parkour, but besides that, she just does the other exercises because she feels she has to if she wants to get anywhere in life. She eats all the right foods so as to help her muscle content keep up and her other body fat stay low. She doesn't live for exercise nor does she adore going to said gyms or doing all of these strenuous activities, but Chell wants to reach her dreams and make them a reality more than anything else in the world, and she's tired of a hard life of being picked on. She never wants to have to deal with bullies again.

Extra 1:
Art Piece - "What's Wrong with Being Confident?"

Extra 2:
Once a shy girl, Chell dealt with a lot of drama of being picked on and constantly bullied as a child. Now an adult, she no longer puts much stock in being silent if the situation calls for her to speak up. Sometimes talkative and sometimes not, Chell will chat you up if she's in the mood to do so... and if she's not in the mood, you'd be advised to steer clear of her anger and irritability unless you want a broken limb or two.

Chell doesn't care if she insults you - she speaks her mind and is rather black and white. If in a debate with someone, Chell doesn't care if she hurts the poor wolf's feelings. She'll just say her peace and not back down until losing interest in whatever the debate happens to be about.

Always one to stay in-the-now, she finds daydreaming and drifting off in one's own thoughts troublesome and stupid. Chell believes that it is better to deal with the problems she faces head-on, instead of pushing them aside and not really dealing with the issues that arise in everyday life - after all, isn't it easier to relax and enjoy life once one's work has been completed?

After surviving a very rough childhood, Chell no longer easily gets stressed. She rather prefers to accept what she cannot change.
Unfortunately, she tends to threaten or be aggressive towards what she can change. If there's some moron bothering her, you can bet that she'll get him to shut up real quick, as that's something she can change. But if it's raining, Chell won't become angry or depressed because she wanted it to be sunny - she understands that she cannot control nor change the weather, so she won't let something so trite get under her skin.

Chell puts a lot of importance on being adaptable. She'd much rather be known for her quick reflexes and her ability to control any situation that arises than to be praised for some namby-pamby thing like good organization! Because of this, though, Chell tends to put off housework and getting things done that really should be done according to a certain timetable. She gets things done whenever she feels like it, and doesn't appreciate being rushed or put under pressure by others when she's very aware of all she has to get done. The only exception to her adaptability is in team situations. Chell is more of a leader and hates being a follower and taking orders from someone else, so she absolutely hates being force to work with others whom she doesn't feel a connection with. She'd rather lead the flock than be a sheep following a shepherd, so-to-speak, so Chell definitely prefers a more hands-on, leadership role than a follower role.

While she once would have done anything to stray away from the limelight, Chell now embraces being the center of attention. If she's telling a story, she doesn't mind if a crowd gathers to listen to her escapades. If she's winning in a card game, she doesn't mind a few admirers watching her play. She knows now that she can handle anything any wolf throws her way, so she doesn't mind being in social situations as much as she used to in her youth.

Not one to enjoy dressing up, Chell is not a girly-girl at all. Her clothes of choice tend to be a denim jacket with holes cut for her wings, a tank top with some band logo on it, and a pair of leather pants or jeans with holes torn in the knees. She hates makeup and would rather stuff her mouth full of carbs than spend over two hours every morning wasting her time primping in front of a mirror. The only thing she consistently wears is moisturizing lip gloss, as her lips tend to be dry, particularly in the hot Summer months. She does enjoy playing with her hair, but her preferred hairstyles are usually very edgy and out-of-the-box. Thus, she tends to not attend fancy social situations like balls or parties - Chell prefers to go to the bar and have a few drinks with her friends. That's not to say she gets drunk - Chell has always been a responsible drinker, and always has either a friend who can drive her home or enough money in her wallet to call a cab. One for controlling everything in her life, Chell believes strongly that getting drunk is a line she will never cross - she hates that too much alcohol will blur the mind and numb the senses, thus leaving her out of control of her own life. Thus, she rarely drinks, even when she goes to the bar with her friends. She prefers to sit and laugh and chat about things with them instead of relying on alcohol to make her feel better.

Never one to back down from what she believes in, Chell can be seen as harsh by some individuals... but to those who know her best, Chell has both positive and negative traits, as does any wolf. Chell is a strong woman who doesn't give up when life gets hard. She doesn't give a rip about what others think about her, as she blazes her own trail. She may be tiny, but true power flows through her veins. Overall, Chell is practical, original, logical, opinionated, and a natural improviser - a true ESTP-A. Bold, rational, perceptive, and direct, sometimes Chell offends those who don't know her that well, but she figures they just need a tougher skin to get through the trials of life. This response often makes others think of her as being insensitive, risk-prone, unstructured, defiant, and impatient. Chell can be loving and helpful to those she cares about, but to those she doesn't trust, she'll always be perceived as cold and ruthless. Whether this perception is true or not is for them to figure out, as it certainly isn't Chell's problem.

Sorry for the late response but winner! Both the forms done were amazing and I enjoyed reading them, but this ones story just pulled me in and made me really want to see where her story goes, so enjoy Waif!
