chokii event adopt - [agender pride]

Postby casiopea » Wed Jun 27, 2018 7:31 am

with soft fur and large, warm paws, these creatures make the sweetest of companions. as they integrate into society, it is up to you to take them in and introduce them to the life of modern humans--write them stories, develop their character, and build their personalities! who they are is up to you.

chokii name:
Aspen
chokii pronouns:
He/him-they/them
prompt: (275 words)
Aspen as a child was always fond of spending time alone away from others, writing until it was no longer bright out. He wrote about simple scenes of nature and it’s cycle, to complex stories following a set of characters in their quests to be the best they could be. Aspen made up for his lack of social skills with beautiful stories, so vivid that you could almost see it all happening right before your eyes.
Aspen growing up carried his writing skills right along with him, with everyday that passed and every inch that he grew, his writing skills grew along with him. But even when he stopped growing, and they stayed in one place always the same, his writing continued to evolve despite not being able to see the changes in him on the surface. He was discovering who he was on the inside and no longer the outside, and it showed in his writing. Feelings of hopelessness and fear for the future loomed in his writing giving it an urgent feeling. Hatred and cruelty stemming from within festered in his monsters, who no longer just hit his characters, but hit them where it really counted, in their hearts. But then love clouded his writing, from the love that a mother feels for her child, to the love one may feel for Their significant other. He wished for many things and these wishes played a part in his writing. Every new journal signifying a new part and journey of his life.
He had found peace within him through his writing and his writing helped him be who he is and always has been.

Twili Imp
Levity or "Levi"
They, Them

I am Agender too!
Prompt:
Levity lay on the chilling, scattered tiles of the town square, gazing at the stars. They had nowhere to go now. Their father had kicked them out for having a mind of their own. For not wanting to be a man. Or a woman for that matter. How stupid. The old guy didn't understand Levi, not really. Levi decided to stop thinking about their father. He didn't deserve to plague Levi's thoughts. What Levity decided to think about instead was where to go, how to feed themself, and to not to die. Those were major issues now. Their father? Not so much.
"Oi! You! Move along!" a voice yelled at Levity.
Levi looked to the voice only to see police people.
"C'mon, stop loiterin'!" one said.
"I don't have anywhere to go, my dad kicked me out," Levi mumbled.
"What's that? Speak up, boy!" they instructed him.
'Boy'. That hurt Levi. They didn't want to be a boy. Not mentioning this, Levi replied, "I said, my dad kicked me out. I don't have anywhere to go. I don't have anyone that is willing to take care of me."
"What about back to your house? Eh?" they asked Levity.
Levi was picked up off the ground and escorted back to their house, only to be rejected by their father once more. The police put Levity into the jail cell for the night, too lazy to deal with them. Levity was too old for an orphanage, so they put him an old folks home. No, the police joked about that to Levity, and found it even more hilarious because of Levity's name. A joke in a serious situation. The place he would go? Not as lovely.
The military. They would provide Levi with food, housing, and a sense of mind that maybe Levity's father would be proud of. Sure, Levi would be risking their life for a country that they hated, but it was better than loitering in the middle of a dark street. At least, that's what the police said.Levity didn't appreciate the military, on the way to Levity's first assignment, border patrol, Levi jumped off midway. That wasn't going to be their life.
Levi discovered that they town was almost perfect. It celebrated all forms of art and self expression. There were murals everywhere. People were very open about what they identified as. Girls loved girls and guys loved guys and people thought of themselves as all different sorts of things. Levity got a job as the news anchor there, found a home. Levi was payed 5,000 dollars a day and lived in a penthouse by the sea. They adopted a unicorn and ate rainbows for breakfast. One day they were even promoted to be the lead singer of their favorite band! Their life got better and better!
Sorry for that display of Levity. When Levi jumped out of the truck to their assignment, they hit their head and went into a coma for a while. When they woke up, they were really disappointed by the real world. It took a lot out of them. Levity never learned about the LGBTQ+ community and their support for Agenders. Levi gave in to binary terms and had a "regular family" but they never were really content again. And secretly they still identified as Agender. If only they lived in a more accepting society, they could have had a better life.(568 words)

sorry for the delay! I’ve gotten permission form icey to take over the judging for this Chokii! After reading both the finished entries, I’ve come to a conclusion.

The winner is TreeFrogHero!

Your story depicts a character that is misunderstood and betrayed by the people he should trust the most. Honestly it’s my greatest fear, the thought process Levi went through as well as having the strength to continue forward hit me really hard in the feels.
