You may be questioning why this beautiful mare has 2 names. It didn't start that way, no, she was just Thunder in the beginning. She earned the name lightning the first time she was ridden in the rain.
She was called thunder because of the way she moved. A sweet Grelifcent, with a slow but unstoppable nature- she thought things out, and you always knew what she would do before she did it, not that you could stop her. But that all changed the moment rain fell onto her back. Immediately, her ears went farther back, and she seemed to almost glow with energy. Then, the mare did something that confused everyone. She was the sort to simply charge through anything in front of her, but as the rain hit her, she began to jump. Happily, she bounded into the air, galloping full speed interspersed with bucks and impressive leaps as she effortlessly jumped over fences, dancing around people and animals alike with mischief in her eyes, as she dared them to touch her before darting away. She was like lightning, uncontrollable, impulsive, and faster than the naked eye can see, and so that's what they called her. Yet, as soon as the rain stopped, she was back to being Thunder. Peacefully, happily, she would amble back to her people, nuzzling them lovingly. After all, Thunder and Lightning are two sides of the same coin.
