[Username: Diamond Sapphire | Name: Robin | Gender: Female]
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Summary wrote:Robin has always been a tough little cookie, ever since she was young. It was almost impossible to make her tear up, and generally a bubbly and bright girl. She always seemed to have a smile shining on her face, even when rain poured, thunder growled and lightning struck in a sudden rage. Robin was there - looking on the bright side.

Robin had an adorable little sister by the name of Poppy, one where she adored playing with when she was done with her homework, and finishing up her chores. Poppy had taken Robin's everlasting happiness and was a bright soul herself, even if she could barely even walk at the time. Robin and Poppy had built a tight bond together, despite Poppy not being able to pronounce Robin's name properly, and so giving Robin the nickname of "Lulu", the same name of the talking giraffe in one of their favourite fairytale books.

There was just one thing Robin was never satisfied with in her childhood -- the fact that most of the people around her seemed so sucked into their own personal lives, and not bothering to share anything with everyone else. It was a cold world, her parents once warned her, and she should be careful. But Robin didn't appreciate any of this 'cold world' nonsense. She was everyone to be connected... somehow.

It was storming outside, and rain strummed softly against the windows of Robin's bedroom. It was a pretty iffy start to her Saturday morning, but it she could definitely tolerate it. Bounding down the stairs, she saw her mother putting on a dark red rain jacket, and putting on black rubber rain boots, her keys clicking in the purse she was carrying.

"Momma, what are you doing?" Robin asked curiously. Her mother paused, and glanced to where Robin was.

"Somehow, Poppy ended up breaking my coffee machine, and though I could try fixing it, I thought it'd be nice to visit a coffee shop in the morning instead. Do you want to come? I could buy you a cookie, if you'd like." Robin's mother offered in a smile, and Robin stared at her, a smile showing up on her own face.

"Really? I'd really love to go! I haven't been to one, have I? And cookies are delicious, after all!" Robin squealed in excitement, jumping up and down in anticipation. Then, she hesitated. "How about Poppy? Where is she? Is she coming?" Robin then asked her mother. "We can't leave her in the house, or she'll probably break more than the coffee machine. Plus, she'll get scared."

"Don't fret, Robin. She ate breakfast while you were still sleeping and I've sent her to her room. The neighbors that usually babysit Poppy when I'm away will be watching over her, I just need to call them." Her mother replied hastily. "Now let's go! Get your coat on, and we'll be off!"

    ────────────────

The two arrived at the shop, and it was decently small. There was a welcome mat, and a sign that read "KING'S COFFEE" in bold letters. They entered, and a small bell rang softly along the small shop. But when Robin entered, she was almost frozen in awe. The tables were filled with laughing, grinning and chatting people, and despite the gloomy weather, they acted fine.

The shop had an odd feeling of happiness that gleamed inside, one that made Robin feel more welcome than she already did. It was almost... magical in a way. A feeling that she liked, and adding the scent that she inhaled, it added more depth to the small shop than she expected.

Robin followed her mother, and she gently ordered a coffee, as well as a sweet chocolate chip cookie for Robin. Once they got their order, Robin couldn't wait to munch down on her cookie. Her mother went and sat at an open table, sipping away at her coffee, while Robin nibbled on her treat.

"It's nice." Robin murmured between bites. Her mother raised an eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" She asked curiously.

"I mean --" Robin paused for a moment, trying to gather up her words. "It's nice that everyone is talking to each other, and laughing. It's not usually like this, is it? People are always talking about selfish things, which makes me... upset." Robin admitted. "Here, it feels like everything has changed! It's sweet and harmonic." She grinned, and finished off her cookie.

"I agree." Her mother nodded. "It's such a nice place, I regret not going her more often in the past. Plus, their coffee is absolutely amazing." Robin's mother smothered a laugh. "Too bad you can't have any, huh?"

"That's not what matters." Robin said. "What matters most is that now... I'd really love to own a coffee shop when I grow up! A place where everyone can chat and feel minimal stress. Not really about the food or coffee itself, even though it is really nice!" Robin smirked, playing around with her mother's empty coffee cup.

"If you do..." Her mother started. "I'm always here to support you."

Summary wrote:Robin grew up, her wish still in mind. She was interested in plenty of other things, but the thought of owning a coffee shop would always make her smile. And she made it reality. Robin opened up a coffee shop in the town, and although small, it was sweet. It started off pretty rocky, but once it started to become heard of, Robin was always stoked to wake up and go down to her coffee shop.

It was a regular day in her shop, with her customers chatting, the smell of coffee filling the air, and the sun leaking in from her windows. All was calm and settled, and Robin was finishing up cleaning her counter, when two specific people came through the door.

"Poppy? Mother?" Robin glanced up in surprise, spotting her younger sister with her mother through the door, wearing large smiles. Robin hurried forward, and grabbed them into a hug.

"I'm sorry we couldn't visit you much!" Poppy apologized swiftly. "I was way too caught up with school! I managed to find enough time to visit you, with mother as well!" Poppy grinned.

"It's fine, I'm absolutely over the moon you're here!" Robin smiled. "I remember seeing you when you just broke the coffee machine, Poppy! Now you're already starting to write a book, I hear?"

    "Yes!" Poppy nodded excitedly.

"Really? Definitely show it to me when you're done." Robin smiled softly. "You two don't know how happy I am you guys came! Oh, it feels like forever since I've seen you guys!" Robin said. "You guys want a drink, or a snack?" She offered.

"A coffee would be nice." Her mother replied in a soft tone. "Thank you. But Robin, just know I'm so proud that you accomplished your dream. I thought it'd be hard to live by working as a coffee shop owner, but it appears you've been doing well!" Her mother spoke in a chipper but gentle voice, making her way to the nearest open table.

"I'm proud, too." Robin nodded. "But even more happy that I managed to bring everyone together."

❦ Just Another Autumn ❦

The leaves fluttered softly to the ground as the chilly wind whipped around. The plumerian took gentle steps across the concrete street,a couple leaves crunching under her paws. Shea burried her head further into her scarf. It wasn't even winter yet, but the weather was already starting to be disagreeable. Thank goodness the Fluffy Feather was right around the corner. Shea had loved the Fluffy Feather for as long as she could remember. Almost as long as she had loved butterflies. The cozy little bakery was warm and welcoming, offering a variety of hot drinks at this time of year. The little bell above the door jingled as Shea entered the establishment. Some of the current patrons looked up from their current snacks and drinks, while others payed no mind. The server up at the counter smiled as Shea padded up. "The same as normal Shea?" he asked. Shea gave a nod and a smile before padding over to her usual seat. The mummers and quiet chatter of the bakery made her feel relaxed as she eased into the booth in the back. She let her mind wander for a moment, looking out at the street. The other plumerians mulling around in the significantly colder weather. A mother dragging a rowdy kit, a couple on a bench, and a shopkeeper closing up. Shea was snapped out of her thoughts as a steaming mocha latte was placed in front of her. She gave a polite thank you before holding the warm cup in her hands. The whipped cream topping was flecked with cinnamon, much like a monarchs wings were flecked with white spots. Shea chuckled to herself, making a mental note to put in an order for more monarch caterpillars before the winter winds caused the shipment to be delayed. If everything went well, she'd have some beautiful butterflies to release by the time spring came. The plumerian raised the cup to her lips, taking a tentative sip. It was perfect. The right mix of chocolate and caffeine. She would have to leave a generous tip. Shea picked the cup up again, taking a bigger drink this time. For just another autumn, this was exactly what she needed.
