prompt wrote:Long ago, the world was born. On it, an ever-lasting war of predator and prey,
mouse, stoat, cat and bird. But the enemy always lurked within. For a mouse
may play a wolf, and his mice may play the fold.
Eaglet was born during time of war and famine, when the mice from the West
stole from the East under the circumstances of starvation.
The ambitious ruler of the East, named Thistle, swore his mice to be superior;
and that only they shall relish from the prospering province. Thistle ordered
every mouse over the age of just one moon to defend his fortune at the border
between the warring tribes. Involuntarily, Eaglet became one of many youth
in Thistle's army.

Thistle's first invasion of Western territory. Eastern sentry including Eaglet now
served as soldiers, and quickly they were met with combat. Western defensive
shredded the ears of and slaughtered every one of Eaglet's comrades that night,
and he was mortified to see their bloody, cold corpses as he was dragged off to
become a prisoner of war.
Later it was decided among the westerners, Eaglet should be heaved into the
river, a death sentence. The frigid and rushing water ate at his wounds on his
neck and ear as he plummeted to die-
But Eaglet hadn't died; the river would show him where to go next.
