Describe your komo's roots, whether that be their culture, family, or beliefs.Pogo has no roots. That is to say, he has no family, few friends, and isn't even really sure where he came from. As far back as he can remember, his life has been just what it is now - him wandering around randomly, going where he pleases and doing what he wants, with (or without) Mr. Schmoo. Sometimes late at night when the rest of the world is sleeping, this bothers Pogo. He'll lie awake, stare up at the ceiling (or the stars, depending on where he's spending the night) and think unusually deep thoughts about what it means to have no one. No one at all... The whole thing makes him feel as if he's floating. Usually though, it doesn't bother him in the slightest. His deep thoughts tend to evaporate with the morning dew. Because really, growing up with no roots has allowed Pogo to explore many things in many ways, and he is truly his very own Komo. No one to tell him what to value, what to believe or what and what not to do... its been hard, but its been fun, too!
Patkin, on the other hand, came from a fairly large family. Both their mother and their father had had other children before finding each other, so in addition to their two full siblings they had a mess of half-siblings to worry about. It could be stressful sometimes with that many Komos around and clamoring for attention from mom and dad - especially with Patkin's quiet and laid-back nature - and unfortunately this would eventually lead to young Patkin developing their Athazagoraphobia. But don't get the wrong idea! They love their family, and would gladly go to great lengths to help out their siblings! It is from this large family Patkin learned to value nature - they lived in the country, so hikes through the woods were frequent, plus the garden was large and sprawling. Their father taught them to identify many local birds. Their mother taught them how to cook. Both parents encouraged Patkin to explore their own interests, and to develop their art skills. All in all, they had a pretty great childhood!

Weeds are pesky plants that invade gardens and cause all kinds of issues. What "weeds" do your komo have to deal with, either literally or metaphorically?
Mo considers himself to be on the cusp of adulthood. Or adolescence maybe. He's really rather mature, if he does say so himself. What really irks him though, is when the little kids follow him around. As the cooler, older sprout in the glade, he's garnered a little bit of a following. Tiny sprouts looking to get in on his adventures and all that. And while Mo is normally friendly, he has found it quite difficult to remain amiable with the young ones, when all he wants is some peace and quiet.
Sometimes one has to yell. And sometimes kids cry, they just do! And if it was Mo's fault, well, they had it coming.

[ ❧ ] there are weeds inside your chest. they are not there physically, no, but you can feel something amiss - a choking feeling - something that stirs inside you and suffocates you more with each breath you take. they are cold to the touch (you've never touched them, you just know), and simultaneously freezing as they are burning hot, scalding even. they confuse you, make you hurt, make your chest tighten painfully whenever you try to talk.
they are a monster of your own creation. the words you heard, the things you were told - they became truths, and you couldnt find a lie in what you were told was a truth. so you believed them, and over time, they manifested inside you like an untamed monster. quiet they were, at first, but now they rampage through you unrelenting, make you wish you had done so many things - everything - differently.
there is a relief, but it is only temporary.
unlike the weeds, they are gentle, they are kind, and they are sweet. they make you feel special, like one of a kind. they are generous, they are honest, and they are loving. they treat you better than you treat yourself, and worry for you when you cant do it for yourself. they are beautiful, they are empathetic, and they are passionate. they take you up and down, to and fro, show you things you have been depraved of your whole life and more. but there is always something that makes you part ways every single time, that makes the two of you grow distant and part ways forever.
they can never make you feel warm.
even the most fiery of people, the most passionate, the most brave, the most daring - they cant ignite a flame when the weeds inside you tighten their grip and leave no room for them to even earn a spark.
and when you finally go home, the cold inside you howling as a blizzard tears you up instead, and you find yourself alone in your room, you try desperately to tear them all out, like how you grip your hair tight between your hands and tear, tear, tear, praying to someone who doesnt care about you and has never listened to you before to tear the weeds out from your body and free you from the prison that no one else can see.
baby blue eyes. soft hazel. forest green. oat. purple. yellow as bright as the stars. dark oak. near pitch black. jean blue. blue-gray. heterochromatic. periwinkle. you pray to faces with no names and all you remember about them are their eyes, but you know that no one can hear you, no one will listen.
there are weeds inside your chest. they are not there physically, but they are there. no one else knows about them but you, and that is how it will always be.
they/he, adult, pms are okay!
just here for pets, oekaki, and
closed species, occasionally. ♡

definition of a weed plant : a wild plant growing where it is not wanted and in competition with cultivated plants.
emerson sat in the corner, blankly staring at the textbook in front of her. she was tired. exhausted. thoughts began to crawl into her mind as she struggled to focus and study. telling her she was unable to finish. she was a failure. she was going to fail. she had bot tried harder. she had given up. the thoughts filled her mind, her being too tired to deal with it. they battled against the thoughts which encouraged her to get through the year, and continue working the best she could. it was late. very late, and she was more emotional than normal, and she was unmotivated to study, to work. she wanted to sleep and forget about her work. finally, she allowed her mind to wander. first it was toxic thoughts; of her grades drastically falling, and her failing the class, but they moved into the upcoming summer and how nice it will be to have a break. after giving herself the few minutes to rest, she continued reading, sitting back against the wall. "only a few more weeks"

Fat baby Patkin! ^o^

Create a bouquet using flowers that represent different aspects of your komo!Patkin:
====~ White Clover - "Think of me" - Because Patkin fears to be forgotten.
====~ Coriander - "Hidden worth" - While it may not be immediately obvious due to their shyness and isolation, Patkin
======is a very warm and creative person with a lot to give.
====~ White rose - "purity, innocence, reverence, silence" - Having led a pretty sheltered life, there are lots of things
======in the wider world that go right over their head.... or make them blush uncontrollably.
====~ Pine - "Humility" - If there's one thing Patkin can NOT be accused of, it's hubris!
====~ Willow - "Sadness" - A general air of sadness hangs around them, mainly because, as they're terrified of being
======forgotten, Patkin heads it off at the pass by isolating themselves and making few personal connections. Thus
======they're very lonely.
====~ Angelica - "Inspiration" - Being an artist, inspiration is a very important part of Patkin's life. They draw it from
======everywhere they can find it, even the oddest of places!
================================
Pogo:
====~ Chrysanthemum - "Cheerfulness" - Because he's a very cheerful Komo!
====~ Hyacinth - "Games and sport, playfulness, rashness" - Fairly self explanatory; Pogo's a rash individual who loves
======to play games.
====~ Rhododendron - "Danger" - While Pogo may APPEAR all sunshine and light... he's not. Beware.
====~ Sweet pea - "Pleasures" - He's a very pleasure-driven Komo, and tends to act before thinking.
====~ Dill - "Powerful against evil" - It's only natural Pogo's bouquet would contain some sort of self-defeating element,
======as Pogo himself is his own undoing! No matter how big, bad, and evil he tries to be, he ends up ruining it by
======failing to plan, or by bursting into hysterical laughter at the wrong moment. He's like a B-movie villain.
================================
Gabor:
====~ Aloe - "Healing, protection, affection" - For many of his friends and family members, Gabor is the one they turn
======to whenever they need a shoulder to cry on, or require good, solid advice. It's tough being the sane one all the
======time, and not letting your own faults show in order to reassure others, but most of the time Gabor relishes this
======role. The faith others place in him is very rewarding!
====~ Pink carnation - "I’ll never forget you" - Represents his friendship with Patkin, which is closer than close, and
======the promise he made them.
====~ Oak - "Strength" - Gabor is a very strong Komo, both in mind and body, and it takes a lot to break them.
====~ Wallflower - "Faithfulness in adversity" - He'll never let a friend down in their time of need!
====~ Yellow Tulip - "Sunshine in your smile" - Gabor is one of those people whose smile is big and wide and
======contagious; it lights up a room when it appears.

Create a bouquet using flowers that represent different aspects of your komo
cillian
chrysanthemum - loyalty, love
Cillian pulled the yellow bloom from the ground, it's head so full of petals that it drooped under its own weight. He regarded it for a moment, dark eyes carefully considering each leaf. The captain would have hated something so brash as this, but to see it here, growing from the dark, shaded grasses of the cemetery, Cillian thought he might reconsider. He appreciated resilience. Cillian tucked the flower into his jacket and tried not to think of the ship. Of boarding with unsteady legs, into the arms of someone who smelled of sea salt and lye.
He walked further into the field, passing platoons of stone markers, each as drab and plain as the last. He counted each row until he reached the fifth, and turned down, reading the names absently. When he, at last, reached the headstone he sought, Cillian kneeled, trousers growing wet as they pushed into the soggy grass. He pulled the flower from his jacket, frowning at the slightly rumpled appearance. Still, it looked garish against the gloom of the cemetery. Was it appropriate? He chewed his lip, but lay the token on the empty space at the foot of the stone. He let out a shaky breath and got to his feet, starting the long walk back to town.
But just as he reached the iron-wrought gate, a brilliant shade of orange caught his eye. Tucked into the gate's intricate metal was a tender, sunset-coloured flower. Cillian reached, delicately, and took the flower into his hand. It sagged a little, laden with rain, but Cillian didn't mind. He tucked the flower into his breast pocket and was on his way
ambrosia - love returned
