history: As a puppy her and her mother lived on the streets, due to being kicked out. Her brothers and sisters had been sold- them being the "better" looking out of the dogs. She was so confused on why her mom was dragging her away from the place she once called home. The nice man was batting and growling harsh words at them. Now, on the streets she had to discover how hard and miserable her life was going to be now.
why the chicken?:One day at a parade her mother had told her that the best way to get food was to wait by the garbage, until the best is thrown in. A little girl and her mother walked by, tears streaming down the little girls face as her mother pulled a chicken toy out of her hand and threw it. " You have enough toys." she'd spat. Moments later Ester grabbed it running back behind the trash cab with her mother. Her mother questioned why she had it and, if she stole it. She swore she hadn't, and said she wanted to keep the chicken- and name him cuddles.

history: Luciana was born in a puppy mill. She was taken from her mother early and some of her brothers and sisters died from sickness. Her mother was ill and had lots of matting in her fur. Their paws were constantly pressed against the harsh wire floor. They barely had human contact and when it did happen, it was usually negative. This is why Luciana has a lot of anxiety. When she was taken early, Luciana was given a bath and pampered. She was put in a small box in a pet store with some other puppies her breed and one of her brothers. When someone came around to buy her, they took her home and pampered her. They gave her a small chicken plushie to play with. She lived a good life until she got bigger, her owners got another puppy because she wasn't the small cute fluffball she used to be. They chained her outside day and night, 7 days a week. All she had was a tiny kennel to go in and out of and her chicken plushie. The chicken plushie is special to her because it reminds her of her life when she was small, innocent, and loved. She never went inside anymore, but their new puppy was sleeping with her owners in their bed. As the chain got rusty, she eventually broke free and was caught by Second Chance Shelter, so that's how Luciana ended up here.
why the chicken?: Her former owners gave her the chicken plushie when she was a pup, so she holds onto it to remember the good times. If another dog comes near it, she'll growl. She only lets an owner she's bonded with touch it.

history: Amor was abandoned and left to wonder. no one has ever given her love only hatred as a stray. she gets really unstable when "Pets" and humans are around, but she plays with "Pets" when there "keepers" are not around.
why the chicken?: its the only thing that comforts her and keeps her stable
