Second breed specific marking! This one is also up for adoption. c:
Username: iStarz & everly
Name: Rix
Phenotype: Fading Black Drift Appaloosa
Genotype: EE | aa | Lplp | Drdr
Gender: Stallion
Horn: Incandescent Alexandrite
Eye Color: Forgotten Age
For this one, I am in need a name by which to call this marking becase Semi-Solid is just boring, right? All information regarding it, and the genetic marker, will be listed below. I want to make one thing clear, however; please do not use terms revolving around ninjas, assassins, cloak and dagger, rogues, etc. I know, it does look like a ninja might with the face mask, the dark legs and such... but let's shy away from that. c;
Drift Appaloosa can appear on any dominant black based unicorn that does not express the silver gene, nor does it seem to effect double cream dilutions. The ventral line (underside) of the unicorn is free of the white marking, the legs from at least the knees/hocks down, as well as the from the poll of the head forward. The ears are most usually covered, rendering many of those unicorns with this marking deaf. The mane and tail fades to a silver grey color by the time those with this marking reach their first year, though they do not carry the silver gene. If expressed on grey, the mane and tail are always a lighter shade, even if the unicorn does not fade to white-grey and remains darker colored. The beard and leg feathers are not altered by the gene.
The gene will be identified with Leopard Complex, and an additional locus Dr_
This gene will only be carried by horses expressing EE.
This gene will not express in horses carrying Z_ or CrCr genes.
All horses bred with this gene expressing have a 75% chance of being deaf, regardless of their parents being so or not.
The winner will receive this horse, as well as a mate carrying the second marking. You will also be credited for the name idea.
A runner-up may be awarded, should this garner enough interest.
Please note upon creation the mate will be rolled for being deaf!
Have at it, everyone! You can list four name ideas you'd like to see. c:

rat markings regarding hooded and capped aren't allowed, right?
For this competition I’m not looking for a type of design, just a name. While creating this unicorn it struck me that people may want to refer to it as something along the lines of a ninja due to how it shapes around the head and legs, but such a theme doesn’t really fit into anything revolving around the unicorns.
Short answer, no; those are rat based markings, and while I can see vague similarities any contests such as this are geared toward finding imaginative terms, of a sort, not to pull a name from a marking that is used for other kinds of animals. i.e Crested Frost; it follows Frosted Appaloosa but takes even the extensive to another level by traversing from the poll down the spine entirely. It isn’t super imaginative in name, but it doesn’t particularly piggyback on another type of animals markings.
