Her favorite place is her art studio. And by her’s, she really means that it’s a communal space. And by studio, she means the art classroom at her high school. She stays in the art room after school at least twice a week.

In Kalyani’s first year she took art and quickly became her teacher, Ms. Bardi’s, favorite student. It took until midway through the year before she felt comfortable enough to ask to stay after. Kalyani usually sits at a table across the room and pulls out whatever project she wants to work on. It’s a companionable environment. By this point she’s basically allowed to do whatever she wants when she’s there. Ms. Bardi trusts her and often leaves Kalyani alone in the room. Kalyani helps clean up the room as well, she’ll wash brushes and tables and put things away.

The art room is Kalyani’s safe place. She’s grown close to Ms. Bardi and trusts her to help if Kalyani has a problem. She’s a good teacher who cares about her students. And she always seems to know when Kalyani’s upset. It’s a quiet place to work on her projects, something her house rarely is with three siblings. Most of all the art room is private. Kalyani never has to worry about being judged there, it’s just her and her thoughts.

Kalyani is artistic and whimsical. She’s very good at art and does mostly portraits and landscapes. She has a tendency to jump between ideas or change how she’s doing something right in the middle. Despite this she knows how to work towards a goal. If she says she’ll finish something she will.

She loves fashion and dressing up. She’s considered going into modeling and hasn’t completely given up on it. Every morning she spends an hour straightening her hair and doing her makeup. Half the reason she got a job was so she would have a bigger clothes budget. Her style is very much casual, comfy goth.

Kalyani is a quiet, private person. She’s never the first to share her ideas. In groups she’s more likely to sit and listen than talk. She opens up more once she knows a person, but this is still a slow process. She doesn’t like people to know something about her unless she chose to share it with them. She went through several locking diaries as a kid. She’s a little more relaxed now but still keeps things put away in drawers and boxes.

She cares a great deal about her siblings and family. They can be really difficult at times, getting in her things and being loud. She honestly prefers quiet. Parks and gardens are probably her best friend. But she’s also the caring type of person and family means a lot to her. So, she does her best to make things work and communicate with her loved ones. She loves dinner with her family and vacations staying in motels and roping her siblings into her new favorite drama show.

JAEGER - a natural born adventurist. The kalon had always wanted to travel, ever since she was the smallest
kit! A sedentary lifestyle, though she sees the pros of, would never be able to suit her outgoing personality.
Instead, Jae is a minimalistic traveler, owning few belongings and living on the road.

"what's her favorite place' you ask? Well you see, that is one of
the hardest questions that anybody could ever ask the gentle and lively kalon. Jaeger travels, that's
what she does. Always has, always will, as a hobby, as a living, as a passion. When you travel the
world, not only can you see every place imaginable, but everyday brings something new, something great
and yet to be explored. Jaeger has traveled from the most southern point of America, all the way to the
frozen Artic glaciers and tundra. Though she's been through treacherous canyons, rain-depleted deserts,
towering redwood forests and even the highest mountain peaks - her favorite place might not be what
you'd expect.

No, it's not the Northern Atlantic shoreline with it's sea breezes and steep cliffs, overlooking endless
ocean. No, it's not the badlands, the solitary dirt roads that pass through some of the flattest land in
the world. Her favorite place is what she uses to get there. Where she sleeps at night. Her home.
Unlike most kalons, Jaeger's home isn't a symmetrically shingled house or dug-out den. Its not a large
mansion with too many rooms for just herself, it's her diy camper. A Freightliner FS-65 school
bus, to be exact.

When she first acquired the bus, it came from a scrapyard with little to no value. It was simply regarded
to as just a hunk of metal on wheels with over 200,000 kilometers on it's engine. "broken", "done for"
and "useless" was deemed the bus. All these terms were ones that Jaeger knew all to well, being spit with
distaste from her early classmates, however overtime and with great focus and skill, she grew the ability to see
past these words. She learned to see the positive truth behind what people said and understands now that other's
aren't always right and even if they are, their thoughts and opinions have no influence on you or who you are or
what you like.... and this is what led her to make her decision to buy this run down school bus for less than a
new sports car - she had a vision.

Her vision? to convert it into a fully functional camper RV with heating/air conditioning, running water and
electricity. At first she didn't have the slightest clue how, but she figured it out as she went. The water tank
is large enough to hold 2 or 3 day's worth of cleaning, cooking and showering needs. All electricity is powered by
solar panels on the bus's roof, and for the sake of stormy weather or any other unforeseen circumstance, there
is a backup generator that can run the bus with more than enough energy to support Jaeger's needs. How can a
bus-turned-RV be a favorite place? well it's not as bad as it may sound. The roomy interior is finished with a
sleek black stove, fridge, sink and table as well as plenty of counter room. There is a small television, though
it is hardly ever turned on because Jae spends so much time outside. The bed is big enough for two comfortably,
and the couch in the main section folds out to create another bed for the friends Jaeger meets during her travels.

That's another thing that Jaeger loves about her favorite place, not only is it homely and comfortable and
completely self efficient for a period of time, but there is memories on those metal walls, both figuratively
and literally... Jaeger loves photography. Pictures of everywhere she travels, the cultures and the landscapes
are all pinned on the walls of her minimalistic home. These allow her to reminisce on past experiences, and at
the same time remind her to look to the future and contemplate what her lifestyle will bring her next!

Occasionally, Jae will meet new people in her travels and invite them into her home and even travel with them!
These new-found friends are another reason why her bus is her favourite place! The memories she forms and the
bonds she creates here mean the world to her.
