some people who need some love -
I'm going to start with a few personal ones. The amazing
Sleep for gifting me my spoiled baby Chanel and
Mercury for growing her. Sleep was incredibly generous to a total stranger and I hope that I am showing Chanel the love she deserves, she truly is a beautiful girl and I love the modern AU personality I have given her as well as the ideas I have for moving her into my fantasy world building universe. It's rare to find a kal you connect with as well as I connect to her. A fact for which some credit must be given to Merc. Merc did a fabulous job with her growth and she's just as cute as she was before. I was slightly scared of getting her grown but my baby was in incredibly capable hands. Not only is Merc a phenomenal artist but they were also patient with me and made (what must have felt like hundreds) of adjustments because of some ill thought of mine. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and I cannot thank either of these people enough.
I would also like to thank
Boomer1414. I am not sure they are specifically involved in the kalon community but in the general CS art community. They did me a stunning piece of tryout art, for absolutely nothing. It was quite possibly the highest quality headshot I have ever commissioned and can be found
here on another kit readopt form. It was such a lovely unexpected offer. The piece was done super well and super fast. *thrusts eternal gratitude in their direction*
I would also like to thank
Sapphirelion,
*Starshimmer*,
cherrydodge,
Eiivanna,
さしやき and many others for choosing to readopt their kals. It's really generous and allows those of us who are newer to the community/have fewer kals to have more chances of being able to adopt kalons without having to trade for them or buy MYOs, and also allowing the kals to find homes where they'll get used more and hopefully find owners who properly connect to them.
I'd like also to show some appreciation to
Sixbane because their NB batches keep making me cry and it just isn't fair how one person can have so much artistic ability.
I have so much love for the kalon community and the people in it that I've definitely forgotten people who's names need mentioning here so thank you to everyone, especially all the staff, for making the community what it is.

Karla lives in a
world not unlike that of Mira and Jace, (so similar
in fact that in the story I wrote she lives with Mira as a child).
Karla is a sweet, innocent and naive little girl. She is often
asking questions that might not be appropriate for the
audience, that could potentially be offensive or embarrassing.
Things like asking kals why they're missing legs. She's naturally
curious and inquisitive. She is too innocent to
understand the potential problems her questions could
cause. This sweet innocence makes her an honest,
caring friend who loyally supports those who are true to her.
She is beautiful and athletic and enjoys running through the
enchanted forests surrounding her home. She can often be
found chasing fairies, or laughing with talking animals. She's
a true free spirit. She's independent, she randomly goes off
just wherever the wind takes her, she enjoys her own
company but she is never truly alone in nature. She has big
dreams and a firm belief in the magical and mysterious.
It came as no surprise to those who knew her how quickly
she became taken up in a dream of travelling with the circus
performing, meeting fascinating individuals and travelling
the world. In typical fashion, she didn't stop to care about
what anyone else would think; she does what she wants to.

The lights cut to black, silence fell, a single spotlight lit up the ring, a rope of fabric descended from above, tumbling - fold over fold - till it reached the floor with an audible phf. Then she stepped into the light. The music started, and she grasped the fabric on either side and wrapping it around her she stepped between its folds. She emerged like a butterfly from its cocoon and seizing the rope with both hands began to climb. Fearlessly she climbed higher and higher. Karla’s breath hitched in her throat. The acrobat climbed right into the roof of the tent and fell backwards. She had wrapped her feet in the silken fabric and she hung their momentarily, she stretched her arms back and bent her body into a perfect c shape, holding it and then reaching upwards to clasp her feet folding her delicate body in half. Karla's mouth was agape with wonder. The acrobat continued her act wrapping the silks around her tumbling down the rope, holding complicated poses with ease high up in the air. She was enchanting to watch, transitioning from trick to trick with grace and fluidity using nothing but the soft silks to support herself. Karla could see the fabric entwined with the body of the performer but still the whole performance seemed like magic. The paradox of strength and delicateness which she evoked stirred something within Karla; a passion. Karla was captivated by the performance. When the song finished she clapped until her hands hurt, cheering for an encore.

After the show had finished she snuck down into the circus ring and gazed at the beautiful silks; they were wide, shiny pieces of fabric that were stronger than they looked, just like her. She grasped the silks in her hands, the soft fabrics painting dreams in her mind, dreams of floating in the soft fabric and captivating an entire audience of people. Caught up in her fantasies Karla tried to pull herself up and failed – it was so much harder than it looked. “Ah, she makes it look so easy, no?” Karla jumped a heavily accented voice behind her, startled her out of her dream. “I’m sorry.” She said with a blush. “No don’t worry my dear,” the man’s voice was kind and nurturing, “It isn’t uncommon for the young ones to come in and want to be like the performers. She was once like you, you know? Just a member of the audience whose heart was stolen by the circus.” “It was a beautiful performance sir. The most magical thing I have ever seen.” The man laughed “I’m sure I shall be seeing you again, young lady, but for now you really mustn’t be in here you know, run along home now I’m sure someone will be worried about you."

Karla left with a changed heart. She went home to the house she shared with her sister, walking in and seeing her sister she said, “You don’t have to worry about me being in your hair anymore Mira. I am going to join the circus.” Since that day Karla has been practicing with everything she can find, she climbs up rope swings, stretches to improve flexibility and pulls herself up on branches of trees one handed. She is just waiting for the next time the circus is in town.
