On the corner of Perkins Street and Feed Place, there is a small coffee shop by the name of The Friendly Bean. It's a local place with a good cup of joe. A sweet barista by the name of Katherine, Kat for short, works there and knows all the locals by name.
One day, a new customer walked in. Kat was tending that day. The businessman walked in and scanned the menu. He was wearing a tan trench coat with a dark grey suit underneath. He was probably coming from the bank across the street. The clock chimed; it was 9:00. The man stepped up to the counter and held up his paw in motion for service. Kat walked over to the side of the counter that the man was standing at.
"What can I get you, sir?" Kat asked in an upbeat tone.
"Ill have-you know what surprise me." he smiled back towards Kat. She smiled and wrote down some stuff on the paper cup. She noticed that he was quite the catch. She was a pretty ballsy kal and decided to make a move on the attractive kal ordering coffee from her. She looked up from scribbling and saw that he was watching her scribble on his cup. She blushed slightly and got to work making him a good cup of something. She steamed some milk and made a latte for the man. She was just about to finish up on his order then she was ballsy once more. She was wearing pink lipstick that day and decide to leave a kiss on his cup for him to be surprised to see.

She haded the cup to him over the counter and winked at him. He smirked back, took his cup from her, saw her message smiled and nodded his head. Kat's heart fluttered. She didn't think it would work but she was sure glad it did.
She got off work at 5:45. The first thing she did was check her phone to see if she had any messages from her little coffee crush, and to her surprise there was. It read, "Hey, that was a cute thing you did for me today. My name is Will. Wanna go grab a bite sometime this week?"
Kat jumped for joy and squealed in her car. She danced and sang to all the songs that played on the radio on the way home. She ran into her apartment to tell her cat all about what happened that day. She was so excited that her little idea worked out.
Fast forward to six months later, Will and Kat ha been in a relationship for about five and half months. Kat was so happy with Will and Will was happy to be with Kat, or so she thought.
Kat had planned a nice dinner at a semi-fancy place uptown. She was going to surprise Will with the marvelous treat. The restaurant had a weird policy were reservations had to be made in the restaurant. Kat was annoyed but went anyways a day before her planned night. She walked in with a piece of paper with her requested times.
She was about to say hello to the host when out of the corner of her eye, she saw Will. He wasn't alone; he was in the company of another female kal who was all over him. She stood there in disbelief. Was this all a lie? Kat couldn't believe it. She crumbled the paper, stormed out of the place and cried a single tear.
"I guess it wasn't love." she mumbled.
