what do they do for a living and how does it affect their relationships with others

Phantom was never one to be trusted with anything when she was a kit, a young girl who couldn't find her place. But her role in the universe came to her when she hit elementary school, and her parents bought her one of those fill-in-the-blank diary things. Y'know, the things that have the little mash games and the fake love poem mad libs? Yeah, one of those. It was when she saw the "Make your own secret code!" page that she was amazed. She loved coding, and so it became her hobby. When she grew up, she enrolled into a cyber-security course in her local college, but soon transferred to a prestigious school in order to expand her career. And so that lands her where she is now, coding messages for the military. She couldn't ask for a better job, for she could do her hobby every day at work. On the other hand, her peers aren't exactly happy she landed this job.
Before she went to college, she was outgoing and always at parties/ after-school events. But after college and her new job, she was rarely seen, since she worked odd hours and spend her off time in her house enjoying a movie or sleeping. Staring at a computer screen must really get to you, people around her think. On the occasions she does leave her house, she talks about coding and what she's working on at the moment. This is why many others tend to get annoyed when hanging out with her, therefor leaving her alone most days she's free.

No one deals well with Death. No one.

No matter who you are, you will face him at some point in your life. Lillith knows this, she embraces this. It's not an easy job, but she took it, because she knew it was a field she could spread her empathy in. It was more than just prettying up corpses and putting them in the ground, it was a much more spiritual experience for her. She despised the tradition of her home country that funerals should be dark and depressing. Lillith very much enjoyed the idea of celebration of life, and practiced this in every facet of her unusual career. It was her job to comfort the mourning, and no one is unnaffected by loss.

Doing her usual rounds, Lillith patrolled through the graveyard, cleaning up the small messes of food and lost items left behind by mourners, sweeping away the debris. She heard a faint weep coming from the direction of the fresher graves, and slowly padded over to see who was here. A lonely looking brown kalon huddled over a new grave, gently sobbing into a bouquet. Lillith approached gently as not to upset her, walking a good distance within eyesight. She wanted to comfort her, not shock her, and she knew exactly how to remedy such situations. She stood in front of her, waiting for her to lift her head, and offered the mourner a shoulder to cry on. Gladly taking the offer, it wasn't too long until she fully erupted into a flood of tears, her mascara dripping into Lillith's fur. Her sadness was so great that even she couldn't help but shed a few tears, and Lillith placed her paw on the poor kal's back to help soothe her. It felt like hours until the waterworks finally dripped away, and
finally she and her were able to share a few words about her loved one.



She told Lillith her name, Wendy, and the two had a lovely conversation about her passed loved one. He was Wendy's cousin, and he had been one of her very close relatives. From her very first memories, he had been there helping her along the way. She shared heartfelt stories about the times they spent together and it was clear that this was affecting her a lot right now. Lillith knew all too well the feeling of loss, and they had shaped her heavily as a person. She told Wendy about the family members she had lost, not in death, but in fear of her and her macabre occupation. It wasn't easy for most people to accept such a horrific revelation as a family member working with death, let alone to bear the burden of it. A few more cries were shared together over mournful memories, before it was finally time to part. The mourner sighed peacefully as she parted, and Lillith felt good for helping someone through a tough time...even if only for a few moments.
