- Athena began growling, her snout wrinkled as she spoke. "You brought one of them in here. I can smell their stench in the air" Balios shrank against the musty floor, his eyes wide. Kira whimpered softly, her halo crown illuminating the walls around her. Balios stiffened as Athena turned toward the doorway. "No!" He shouted, springing up. Her head whipped back to him. "I didn't. I was on the palace grounds spying, you must smell that." Kira nodded to him graciously before zipping around the corner to safety.

"no."

it was such a simple lie.

eyphah blinked lazily, eyes drooping with the usual exhaustion. another sleepness night, like always. they sat next to their mother, hot under their pale fur, refusing to meet her eyes (but then, that was normal, wasn't it). but their mother just nodded, silently checking the box and moving on to the next question.

eyphah went into the doctor's office. they had their usual checkup, suffered through the usual lectures of what would be happening to their body as they got older, dealt with the usual blind dysphoria of their doctors. they'd tried to explain last time, they weren't a boy or girl, they didn't belong to either world but some secret one all their own; no one listened. eventually they'd given up trying.

"do you have any questions?"

"no."

they sat across the room from their therapist. sleeves long, eyes averted, fingers twitching. the other kalon frowned.

"are you sure?" they asked. "this is a very serious thing, you know. if you lie-"

"the answer is no," eyphah interrupted, trying desperately to keep their calm. "i haven't done anything like that."

"will you show me your arms?"

eyphah frowns, tugs their sleeves down farther.

"no."

it was a hospital official this time, a nurse dressed in scrubs the color of the sky, a dark dark sky, royal blue. she scowls. "don't lie to me. you're here because-"

"because what? i tried to jump off a building?" eyphah retorts, rolling their eyes, trying to cover up for the emotions raging under their skin. "i didn't try it. for the record."

if they were sarcastic enough, maybe she'd give up and accept it.

"you are being admitted for suicidal ideation," the nurse informs them, point-blank, matter-of-fact. "you'll be here for a mandatory twenty-four hours.

"do you want to go home?"

"no."

Prompt six
Business was usual for the humble candy shop. The hoiday season had done wonders with the payout but the steady stream of visitors had died down over the weeks. The rush of children in the few hours after school had also finally left for home. Leaving the store in serene silence, only the sound of the cheery piano tunes breaking it. These were moments Zared enjoyed, free from the daily worries and bothers of his life.
With a content sigh he left from behind his counter and was heading for the door to lock up when a uniformed police officer entered. With zero shock or confusion the candyshop owner sweetly greeted the kalon, and inquired for what he was being visited for.
Apparently an anonymous tip had led him to believe that weapons were being illegally being stored within the back. Giving the lovely officer a grimace hidden grin "Of course you can! I wouldn't want to waist any of your time~" following behind with a skip in his step the gang leader technically wasn't really lying? Can't waste time if your not there to experience it right?

Dear Diary;

My name is conan, I'm 8 years old, and I'm so scared. I'm afraid the police are going to take away my journal or record what I'm writing right now. What do I do??
They're calling my dad right now. I've done done something really bad. They'll never get a hold of him- he's not even a citizen,
I don't know what I'm going to do! I didn't think I'd get caught!
Okay, let me write it. I stole Noise's bag while he wasn't looking to get revenge on him, and there was a lot of money in there.
I spent it already and he found out it was me, his parents called the police. I'm here now, possibly serving jail time- when they questioned me, I said I got the money from my dad, because I know he's got my back. But.. He doesn't have a phone. Do I tell them that? Do I lie to police a second time?
I'm so scared.

Prompt 6- The Snake
Dreamlight— Feauturing Pip

Everything was going according to plan, he wasn’t suspecting anything. Pip and a group of friend were planning a surprise birthday for their friend. They had permission to deck the house out and it was up to Pip to keep his friend Sam busy. When they were ready, they would send him a text and he would lead Sam to his house where the surprise party was.

“Hey Pip, I think I left my phone at my house, it’ll take one second, I promise.”
Panicking, Pip quickly came up with an excuse.
“Ahh, that fine, now cmon, we’ll be late for the movie.”
“Uhhh, what movie.” Sam was getting suspicious by the second, this wasn’t good.
“Oh yeah, surprise! We’re going to the movies for your birthday.”

Pip felt bad for lying to his friend but it had to be done. He could only hope that Sm would understand, now he had to quickly get tickets for a movie. He texted his friends secretly on what to do. Hopefully everything goes as plan, Pip thought as he drove to the movie theater, taking the longest route while his friends busily tried to buy some movie tickets quickly!

Rain tried to keep her breathing quiet, slinking along the side of a cement barrier. The empire's forces could be heard conversing and clanking about mere yards from her. Her brown jedi robes would be a dead giveaway if she were seen, but she had to get inside and disable the alarm system so the rebel troops could get by unnoticed. She sat very still for a moment until the footsteps seemed further away and then ducked as low as she could and sprinted along the wall until she reached the side of the building. There were various species of trees growing there and they all had strange curves to their branches and trunks, their leaves tinted purple. This was not Ckorena's home planet and this was the first time she had been here. She was young and her superiors had decided they were going to send the rookie in to play the bait. She had taken on smaller missions, but this was her first big one. Her mentor trusted they only joked that she was bait, and that they all trusted her skills more than they let on. She waited for quite a while until she finally heard a pair of voices approaching. White armor glinted in the daylight for a second in her peripheral vision and then she struck out at them. Her whirring blue lightsaber sliced cleanly through the first trooper and she spun and quickly put an end to the second's sudden shout of surprise. She dragged them into the shadow of the bushes and took off the armor, quickly putting it on herself. She took a deep breath, pulled the mask over her head, hid her saber, and marched out gun in hand. She walked right up to the building entrance and they stopped her, asking for ID. She gave the trooper's without speaking and the guard looked at her suspiciously, but then let her pass. She wandered down the long halls and followed the mental map their spy had explained to her until she reached the control room. Staring at the blinking wall of panels, she located what had been described to her as the security system controls. It crackled as she thrust her lightsaber through it and the lights began flashing purple in the room around her, sirens wailing. She quickly made herself scarce as footsteps sounded down the hall. Several long minutes later, there was gunfire. She raced in their direction. It was time to fight.

venita - 432 words

venita sat at the kitchen table with the older girl, pulling her hair back into a bun. it wasn't too often that she and dove had time alone, but dove's client had canceled on her, leaving the two alone.
they weren't exactly best buddies, but the two got along well. venita lived in the basement, as a favor of dove's for one of her... acquaintances. she owed him big time, so what else could she do but take the other girl in?
venita was incredibly thankful for her opportunities. after all, she was a refugee of sorts, so she graciously took in anything that presented itself.
polly and cas, dove's adopted children, were off at school when dove asked the question. venita loved the kids, and the two of them saw her as the cool older sister type. she fit right in- she wasn't particularly special, and she'd hoped to keep it that way.
"so, ven..." dove started that morning, pouring herself a glass of orange juice, "i've never really got to ask you about your past."
she froze. "i mean, you know so much about me and the twins! i'm just curious as to what your struggles were. palmer's kind of hinted at it being rough, but..."
as she continued, venita had entirely tuned her out. oh, god. she didn't want dove to know- what was she going to say? sweat trickled down the girl's neck.
"hm," she started, hoping she'd come off as composed, "i guess i can start with saying that my home was always very warm."
that was the truth. she continued. "i lived with both my mother and father as well as a younger sister. life was... quiet."
the first half wasn't wrong, but quiet? her life was anything but. she was the heir to the throne, for god's sake! dove bought into her words though, and nodded, taking a sip of her drink.
"my father and i got into regular arguments." truth. "he never really liked my way of living. he wanted me to follow in his footsteps, you know?"
she wasn't entirely lying. her father wanted her to be a perfectly poised and serene figure, just like her mother, but with his same wild morals. but it was close enough.
she braced herself for the lies. "palmer and i have been buddies since we were young, and he knew i couldn't take it anymore." she forced a smile.
dove smiled back, and venita sighed of relief. "i'm glad to have taken you in then, ven. you're such a sweet, honest girl."
venita nearly laughed.
