What is a ‘natural mutation edit item’?
Is it like reverse munchkinism and cyclops and such? What are the options for natural mutations and what is it basically?

if I have x1 short fur edit from the event, can I use it on more then one part of the body? Or can you only edit, say, the front legs for shorter fur.
So if you have x1 short fur edit, can you use it more then once on ONE kalon?

You can use it on more than one part of the body, since it's just the trait overall. So you can add shorter fur to the front legs and belly, or whatever it is you prefer! But you can only apply the edit once, so if you add it to the legs, and then after it's approved,
you realize you want it on the belly too, you'd need a second edit item for that.

Is the only way to get a Kalon to win one or to buy an MYO with USD? I'm a non-owner who's new to this system and I don't quite understand it.

You can win a Kalon, be gifted one, or purchase a MYO with dA points or USD. Sometimes you can win HMs from competitions, and a certain amount of those can be exchanged for a semi-custom Kalon.

so, if I had an MYO posted and it hasn't been approved yet due to there being a few issues with the edits and design, could I change the whole style? the edits would pretty much be the same, just a bit different and with an overall different color palette and fur pattern.

If it hasn't been approved yet, you're more than free to change whatever you'd like!
That includes totally redoing the design, or changing the style or markings!
