PROMPT #3
_______________

Samson

The sun was rising slowly behind the pyramids, casting them in a gold and orange glow. They seemed otherworldly. Samson watched until daylight was nearly at a full brightness and then slid down the sandy bank of the dune he had been sitting atop. He trotted into the Egyptian village he had decided to call home. He smiled to other kalons as he passed and gazed at the colorful market stands linking to dusty street. This village was not the wealthiest, but it was definitely the friendliest and it felt like home. Samson knew he could help them. He made his way up to a stand decked with fruits and vegetables of all sorts and nodded politely to the kalon running it. He purchased some cucumbers and peaches and carried the bag back to his home on the outskirts of town.

He had no neighbors in sight, and the desert stretched out around him; a beautiful orange in contrast with the deep blue sky. Chickens pecked at the dusty grass and did not startle as he passed. Laundry was flapping in the breeze out on the line where it was drying. His gray stone house cast a shadow and he felt the hot temperature dip slightly as he passed under it toward the door. This was his home. He pushed inside and set his produce on the table before watering his various houseplants. All of the windows hung open, letting sunlight scented air inside. Glinting, golden treasures and artifacts could be seen around Sam's home. He had found all of them, but the most expensive and valuable discoveries had been sold to museums in anonymity. He took as much money as he needed to live comfortably, and then dispersed the rest of it throughout his village to help where he could. The objects around Sam's home held personal value and sentiment. Some frowned upon what he did. They called him a grave-robber. But he knew the ones who needed this treasure the most were the living.

prompt three

keiyuu sighed as he stood outside in the cool night air, the breeze carrying a scent of newly fallen rain. in the distance, he could see the glimmering lights of the bustling city, sparkling like swaths of brightly colored stars. he didn't mind the chill, nor the humidity that lingered. it felt right, the aftermath of a melody of pitter-patter droplets that still clung to the roof. the leaves of the old oak resting just out of reach out of the balcony dripped lazily, too, and kei was at peace. he took a long drag of the cigarette in his paw, and tipped back his head to watch the smoke of his breath wind upwards toward the cloudy night sky. finally, he seemed satisfied, and put out his cigarette on the edge of the railing, before heading back inside through the open sliding glass door into his room. he wiped his hind paws, just in case, then made his way to the edge of his bed, tip-toeing around the discarded clothing of his mate's bartender uniform, over the small child's toys littered across the wood floor. he breathed a long, content sigh, and knelt by the bed where his lover and his son slept soundly, blankets pushed away and expressions soft and at peace with pleasant dreams. kei was not tired yet. he would wait a little longer before he crawled in beside them, and held them lovingly in his warm and gentle arms.

keiyuu is passionate about his family.

Prompt #3
Tell about a something your kalon is passionate about.

June is passionate about outer space --
More specifically, she's passionate about finding out what happened to her sister Leire.

Her sister was sent off to another planet with a group of kals after being infected by alien spores. The national space organization, which June works for, was responsible for rehoming the affected kals due to fears of what their contamination would bring for Earth - unfortunately, the kals in question had no say in the matter. They were told only that they were being sent to explore a new planet - and when news returned that their ship had been lost, June was beyond heartbroken.

While all communication with the ship (or whatever remained of it) was strictly forbidden, June knew that he sister had to be alive. She would never give up, even going to extreme measures to go behind the organization's back and scan for distress signals. When she could, she even sent out signals herself. Eventually being caught, June was dismissed form her position as a space engineer - but this did not deter her. At home she pressed on, building herself a device that could scan and send signals from Earth to outer space. With it, she spends long nights scanning the sky for any sign of her sister - she refuses to give up hope.

    { Prompt three } What's your passion? -- 350 words 1,987 characters

“It’s to protect my family.”
Everett sat across from his best friend in the cafeteria, scanning over the baseball bat he brought to school that day.
“I thought it was for your love of baseball. Isn’t that one of your signed bats?” The Kalon across from him tilted their head curiously. “You always loved baseball.”
“I mean, you’re not wrong. But no, I have a similar bat to this that was one of my signed ones. You think I’d bring a priceless bat to school where some a-hole could steal it? Heck no, dude.” Everett laughed, making a fake swing away from the other Kalon. “But yeah, I’ve always been passionate about Baseball. Being a gangster like my parents would be pretty cool, but that won’t make me a lot of money when ya’ get arrested.” Everett sighed, setting the bat on the table. “I can’t believe you still remember how passionate I am about Baseball. Surely you would have forgotten by now.”
“What kind of friend would I be? Your birthday IS coming up. What else would I get you as a gift? Obviously not something you won’t like.” The Kalon laughed, Everett chuckling lightly.
“This is probably why we’re best friends dude. We actually care for each other. I love ya’ man. No homo though, that’d be weird.” Everett laughed, doing his handshake with the other Kal, winking behind the hair covering his eyes.
“Right, right, it’s all because we’re best bros, no homo dude.”
The boys continued to laugh and joke around during that lunch period.
It was probably already clear that Everett’s passion was baseball, especially since his room back home was all kinds of posters, bats and baseballs hanging up or in cases, presented around the room aesthetically. It was probably a concern or obsession to anyone who didn’t know what Everett was like. You’d actually probably find him weird, but it’s cool. It’s just something he’s really into, and a lot of Everett’s friends seem to really like the sporty aesthetic, his parents even support this passion. It’s fun all around, no hard feelings.

Prompt 3
Pomba never really thought of himself as a passionate person. At least not until others pointed it out to him.
He thought it was healthy behavior to wake up every morning to the sound of his love and enjoy their music. He thought it was normal to pack an extra lunch to share with them. He even thought that it was normal to call out to them in public to get their attention. But apparently that was slightly obsessive. He felt kind of self-conscious about his "passion" for a little why, wondering why people thought it was weird. He just believed they were the most beautiful and intelligent and lovely and free and majestic and...well you get the picture. However, Pomba was never much of a worrier so he forgot about those self-conscious thoughts and continued his obsession everyday on his way to and from work. I mean, who doesn't love birds?

Prompt 3: Heartfelt passion
Pip went through the doorway, small cards held loosely in their jaw. Looking around the hallway, Pip found a window sill, morning sunlight shining down on it. Pip approached the window and grabbed one of the cards from their mouth, opening it and placing it on the small shelf. They then trotted out onto the dirt path of the small town, stopping to look around and return the greeting of a nearby kalon. It was warm out, with a gentle breeze ruffling the grass, making Pip a bit wary of dropping the cards. Pip continued down the path, heading into the town's market, setting cards on the tables of the stalls if the vendor's head was turned. There was a group of kits watching a performance, Pip slid a card into the satchel that one of them carried. Pip slowed their pace, checking to make sure that no one was looking. They then counted the cards they had left, noticing there was only one left. Pip smiled, turning around to keep going when they bumped into another kalon, sending the basket of wooden figurines they were carrying to the ground. With a hasty apology, Pip started helping the other kalon assemble their dropped belongings. Picking up the last one, Pip noticed the detail in the carved figure, turning it over in their paws to inspect it.
"Wow, this carving is really beautiful! Did you make it?" Pip asked the other kalon, returning the figurine with an impressed grin.
"Yes, thank you, and thank you for helping me pick them up." They replied. Pip's eyes lit up with an idea, giving the other kalon the last card.
"A card?" The other kalon replied, curious. They opened it, eyes flicking across the contents as they read the anonymous compliment inside. They smiled softly, eyes focused on the center of the message. It had taken Pip a few hours to come up with what was written in those cards, but being able to make other people happy was its own reward. The other kalon thanked Pip and continued on their way, casting smiles upon the people they passed. Pip looked up at the puffy white clouds scattered across the beautiful blue sky, marveling at the joy of spreading kindness. How wonderful it is that happiness is contagious!

    ---> Prompt 3 with Evelyn

Evelyn fumed at the scene outside Mariam's diner. Children smiled happily as they trampled on the delicate grass of a new spring. They tore tree branches trying to brave the sky, and they threw bird nests to the ground in their effort to get higher and higher. Yet it was not the fact that kids were being kids that infuriated her, but that adults had no sense to stop them from being destructive. She wasn't surprised, though. Nobody ever had the sense to step in and say something.

Years had gone by with everyone needlessly following the Priestess; the townspeople's brains were melting into unrecognizable mush while their eyes were fooled with sparkly things and promises of something more. The environment was suffering from a great misdeed by the hands of people with no more sense than animals. Evelyn's life work was as a journalist documenting and sensationalizing the best and worst acts so people could adjust their own behavior to suit what was needed from society, and now she saw a greater purpose. Today, her work became a passion. Today, she would begin picking up after the Priestess and setting those little deeds aside. Eventually, she would have proof. Solid, undeniable proof of how the town of Adhæsit was suffering. How the Priestess exacerbated the dying environment around them. It was that day that Evelyn was striving for; the day the Priestess would pay. It was only to reach the moment of retribution that she would bother to breathe from this point on.

Prompt Three - Passion
-typing on mobile so I apologise in advance for any errors-

Robin huffed with slight annoyance, staring at the small car in front of her. She had spent weeks on the thing since it had broken down yet hadn't seen much, or any for that matter, improvement.
The young Kalon prided herself in being rather well versed in mechanics, picking up the hobby from a young age when her father introduced her to motorbikes. Ever since, Robin was quite enamored by how they worked and now aided most of her family and their mafia with any car troubles they may have.
She gave the most recent piece of junk a good look over, her eyes narrowed as she fiddled with another part in the engine. It was hard work and many were surprised by her choice of occupation, due to her gender and the difficulties that often surrounded it, but she found pride in her work. Especially now, as she turned the key to give the broken down car another shot and it roared to life. Robin sat back, satisfied with her work and dialed up her employer to let them know of the fix.
