Twinpage: here Reason for the lack of her lower mane:
Reason for the lack of her lower mane:Penthesilea and Hippolyte are born at and raised from a tribe of Amazons. Following their peoples traditions, which demand that an Amazon girl gives away the breast on the side of her sword arm to be considered a woman, fillys get the lower half of their manes cropped when they are old enough to be considered a mare.
This lack of the lower portion and the short cut of the upper portion of Penthesileas mane is not only aesthetical or to show her membership of an Amazon tribe. In battle, it gives her rider also the chance to fight with their sword – without interference or interruption of the mane. Quite similiar to a stallion with a cropped mane, but with a glance of femininity still clinging on the mares.
Meaning of the markings:In the culture Penthesilea and Hippolyte were born in, these markings (as they are actually a permanent hair dye, comparable to our tattoos) are given to strong and succesfull mares who proved themself in battles. Each mare gains its own set of markings and no two horses have the same. The stronger a mare is, the more and larger markings she has (from none up to three), and if she proves her power not only in war or arena-like battles against other mares but in both, it is possible to gain the highest honor of all: the allowance to wear the marking on both sides. Hippolyte and Penthesilea have both earned that honor for all three of their markings and are considered to be like a force of nature amongst the Amazons.
 Personality:
Personality:If you can find someone beeing tricked in a way they can recognize it as a joke, you can be sure Penthesilea and her sister aren't that far away. She is one of that mares who just love making fun and always thinks about new ways to do so. It is quite rare that Penthesilea comes up with the same idea twice in a row (if even), at least not for the same horse / person. Of course some of her planned tricks aren't as funny and quite more dangerous as she tought they'll be, but for that she can relay on her sister Hippolyte so no one will be harmed.
In battle, Penthesilea often uses her skill in finding new ways to trick the other side so her side gains adventages. That, even more than her selfless carring for her sister and rider, made her irreplacable at many battles she fought.
Relationship to her sister:For Penthesilea, there is no horse more important that her sister. She loves her and would go trough hell and back for her twin, no mather what it will cost. Not only is Hippolyte her twin and best friend, she is also the only one Penthesilea would discuss her friendly tricks with before playing and the one this mare trusts the most.
This is the reason why separating these two would be a thing Penthesilea would never allow to happen.
