Answer: Kestrelwing found his apprenticeship rather average. As a newly named apprentice, Kestrelpaw was ecstatic. He had big dreams to become the “best warrior” and had plans about all of the quests he would go on. He thought becoming a warrior was going to be a fun adventure, always going on patrols or “special missions” for the clan. Reality was a bit different. Not exactly a let down, but it was more work than he’d hoped for. Cleaning dens and other seemingly small tasks was dreadfully boring to him. He wanted to explore. To do the “important stuff”. What he hadn’t yet realized was that he was doing important tasks. Taking care of the clan was important and that included keeping it clean. His mentor was a she-cat named Cherrytail. She was tall with a ginger and white pelt and marigold eyes. A very patient cat, she always looked at Kestrelpaw’s impatience with mild amusement. She was adamant that he took his tasks seriously, no matter how small, and if he didn’t do them to her satisfaction he’d have to do them again. Kestrelpaw’s favorite part of his apprenticeship was when he was training. He loved learning the skills it took to have a successful hunt or the various moves he could use in battle. Much to his disappointment, however, he was a better hunter than a fighter. He enjoyed his hunts, but slowly grew frustrated at how he fell behind in battle training. He was always a touch too slow or didn’t anticipate his sparring partners moves correctly. He made it his goal however to get better. He would practice whenever he had an opportunity. Cherrytail was encouraging though not one to give undue praise, and reminded him that overdoing it would have the opposite effect. Not one to go easy on an apprentice, she never lowed her expectations for Kestrelpaw. She would train him hard so that he could grow to his full potential. Never once did she hesitate to repeat teaching moves he hadn’t fully mastered. She saw no shame in him needing to take a little extra time. Though he gave her sass, Kestrelpaw really grew to respect and care for his mentor. He wanted to make her proud. To prove to her that her faith in him was well placed. So the first time he bested her in training he was beaming with pride for the rest of the day. The clan during this time was peaceful. There weren’t too many disputes. A few border disagreements at most but they were settled without too much fighting. When he was granted his warrior name and saw Cherrytail watching him with pride he knew he had done it. Even though his apprenticeship was rather ordinary, filled with the usual ups and downs of training and clan life, Kestrelwing remembers it fondly and strives to continue to uphold the ways Cherrytail taught him.

Answer: Lightpaw had always struggled with some problem or other; daddy issues, problems with love, bullying...Lightpaw could never seem to stay out of trouble and was regarded to many as a troublesome tom. He'd always had some trust issues and always found a way to sneak out of camp rather than stick with the others and clean the ticks out of the fur of the elders. His mentor, Toadfur, was a stern natured molly and didn't like his attitude; often fighting against him to keep him toeing the line like her daughter, Shadepaw. However, little did Toadfur know that debt she'd come to pay Lightpaw.

It was a cold misty morning and Toadfur had managed to cajole Lightpaw into going hunting with her, Shadepaw and Shadepaw's mentor, a thin reedy tom by the name of Pigeonwhisker. The thin reedy tom was surprisingly sly and had a terrible amount of ambition, ambition that seeped through his veins and filled his heart with want. Suddenly, the grey tom snatched up Shadepaw and took her to the highest branch on the tallest tree, and dangled the fearful bundle over her mother's head.

''Let her go!'' cried Toadfur, begging and pleading for the warrior to let her daughter go. ''Not unless you give me your deputyship!'' hissed Pigeonwhisker, through a mouthful of scared apprentice. While the two quarreled and pleaded and threatened, Lightpaw had crept around the tree and as stealthy as a mouse, stole up behind Pigeonwhisker; with practised skill, Lightpaw attacked.

He woke up a few days later, with a broken leg and Shadepaw snuggled into the crook of his belly. Toadfur was very proud of him and Pigeonwhisker had been executed for his attempted crime, Lightpaw was a hero in the eyes of his clan and although they all knew, like all the heroes prior, he would have to leave, they celebrated for quite some time.

Lightpaw was named Lightstorm.

Running Dream wasn't always very happy about Sparrowstar mentoring her. She believed that she was good enough to take on anything around her. She was quite bold and stubborn but nothing Sparrowstar couldn't handle. Sparrowstar is a very calm and patient cat, unlike the young Runningpaw. Who was always moaning and whining about Sparrowstar's "slow training". However, now that she looks back at it she is very appreciative that Sparrowstar put up with her and all of her drama. She now is a very strong and hard working warrior with a better understanding of things. She regrates being such a pain but she knows that it makes both of them a better warrior. The once stubborn, moaning, and lazy apprentice is now a strong, determined, and successful warrior.

It was late one evening and Running Dream went up to Sparrowstar who was sunning himself after a swim.

"Hello, Sparrowstar." She said

"Why hello there Running Dream," He says as he turned around to face her "What can I do for you?"

"Nothing right now. I just wanted to thank you for putting up with me. I know that I wasn't easy to handle," She pauses and laughs "but I have learned so much from you. Thank you."

The last drops of the setting sun had been licked up as Sparrowstar lept down and purring said: "You had it in you all along, you just needed a friendly reminder and push."

Answer: I mean, it was fine. Nothing special. My mentor was rather absent minded, so I taught myself most of what I know. He never corrected my hunting stance, so I learned to copy his. He never taught me fighting moves, so I learned to copy what I saw others doing, and create my own. In the end, I think it was a good thing I had to do so much independently. It prepared me for life as a loner when my clan was destroyed. I still worry about that old geezer. I hope he's wandering around somewhere, happy.
