Dear Kvon,
My heart, my soul, and my deep pool of regret go into this letter. I don't know how you'll feel after reading this, but please bear with me. Kvon, I'm writing this a long, agonising three years after I've left. I've grieved, I've wept, I've done everything I could to try and forget about you, but I can't. I have, however, found someone to lean on. I've met a new someone, a new bright star in my life. Her name is Aveera. I think I love her more than I've ever loved anyone before. I've proposed to her. We're engaged and will be getting married in seven months. I'm planning to spend my entire life with her. We'll buy a house, it'll be on the lakefront and the birds will sing in the early hours of the morning as we go for crisp walk in the blinding sun. I know it's a lot to take in and I don't know why I'm telling you all this. I'll get to the point. I'm sorry for leaving you right after mother passed. I am so, so, truly sorry for not responding to your countless letters, for not seeming to care. But I did, and I do. I want you to forgive me, but I know you might not be able to. I know this letter is impromptu, Kvon. I know this is a lot to take in, and I'm asking too much of you, but please understand. I've always thought of you and remembered you, now let me prove it. I hope you're free this month, because I'm going to be arriving at your front door in eight days with Aveera. We'll have so much to catch up on, and I want you two to meet. You'll love her. I've told her about you, and she quickly helped me set this up. We'll spend the next long while together-however long you'll have us for. I'll make sure to visit you again once we leave. I hope you'll visit us, too. I want to be a family again, Kvon. Your big brother is coming home, and this time, he'll stay by your side.
Love, Alion
''I can remember that chilly autumn morning like it was yesterday. It is most definitely the most cherished memory I have. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must continue to pack my bags. I'm going somewhere very special. Once I'm there, I believe the first thing I'll do is head for a swim, and finish off my morning with a crisp walk in the blinding sun.''
