Writing or Art:
He was told he wouldn’t go lonely, when his time came. And youth had blinded him to the meaning behind the words, behind the clues his dam had given as to what a life he would live.
He fought at times, for his life some and for others because his ego spurred him to get the last word in. And others he grieved, for the loss of those he had called his unforgettable people, or for lessons learned in a way that could have been avoided. Emotions swept over him, under him, through and around him… until eventually he forgot.
Forgot his name, forgot faces he had once loved. All that remained were eyes alight with a fire not able to thrive in his bones, but behind the eyes was confusion and a mind slowly succumbing to a nothingness brought on with age.
His mother had told him he would never go lonely, and in the end of days, though he had forgotten who was at his side always, her words rang true. Recognition may not touch his mind when he looked into the faces of his mate, of his children, but they spoke to him of times spent at his side on better days.
And for all he could not remember, he could always feel content knowing he would not go lonely.
i wasn’t gonna apply but it hit me, so sorry.
