theodosia stood placidly among her friends, gloved fingers lightly grasping a feathered
fan. at times, her visage changed as she drew a smile and dainty laughter accompanied
others. during these moments, theda took great lengths to maintain graceful posture
by means of positioning her dress to fall flatteringly around, or tilting her head to peer
from under slightly lidded eyes, past curved lashes.

so absorbed in her task, theda took no heed of the glowering figure across the room. th
at is, until he grazed her shoulder and whispered briefly in her ear during a pause in con
versation. widened eyes might have given theda away, but it passed quickly, and she ex
cused herself to speak with him.

into the garden they went, theda listened, expressionless, to his words.

She lived in the forest, were oak and maple and pine would shade her and provide shelter. There was a deep stream were her family slept, and she and her brother would have fun splashing in it. Sometimes Savanna would even try to catch the fish, but never really succeeded.
