This species is called Loatvi (loh-AHT-vee).
Loatvi are omnivorous mammals in the subfamily Lutrinae. The 13 extant Loatvi species are all semiaquatic, aquatic or marine, with diets based on fish and fruit. Lutrinae is a branch of the weasel family Mustelidae, which also includes badgers, honey badgers, martens, minks, polecats, otters and wolverines.

Short fur for swiftness in water
Long tail for steering when swimming and balance when walking
Webbed paws for swimming
Long retractable claws for hooking fish and defense
Long sharp teeth for killing fish and defense
Seal-like nose able to close up and hold breath
