how did they loose their sight?: Noir was sadly born blind, and has never been able to see. This fact contributed to the decision of what her name and show name should be, since all she's known is the presumed blackness of being blind.
how do they cope with being blind?: Noir heavily relies on sound more than anything, as you'd imagine, to get around without knocking into things, and/or falling over. She's gotten very good at judging how far away something, or someone, may be using sound alone. A habit that she's also developed is slightly dragging her hooves before fully lifting them up to take a step to ensure that the things previously mentioned don't happen. This habit has also gotten her into trouble though, like the time she stumbled over a particularly large stone and nearly went head over heels, so she has been trying to rely less on her hoof dragging method of getting around. Despite her being blind, she doesn't let it get the best of her, and she works hard all the same. The last thing Noir wants is to feel like a burden, so she works hard to pull her own weight, no matter how difficult it may be being blind.
