She paused for a moment "Assignments are.. always pretty awkward.. I didn't expect you either I thought maybe.. someone I was friends with already but.. I was hoping at the very least we could possibly become friends eventually." she said. That would make it work wouldn't it? That was what many of these were, weren't they? Embergaze didn't know a lot about love, every time she thought she did she got it wrong. But what she assumed was that most mates were just good friends. That seemed to be the nature of the clan at least to her.

Darkgaze padded out of the warrior's den his yellow gaze moving past Frostpetal for a moment and a look of sympathy crossed his face before he looked away. He understood heartache well. Though it may be in a slightly different way. Darkgaze had, had two cats now that he'd loved and lost. Which seemed to be the reason he never spoke to his assigned mate or anyone really in a more romantic sense.

Swiftleap purred slightly and followed her out of the nursery. Briareyes shifted on her paws after they found a nice spot for the pair to sit and enjoy the bustle of camp,"Yea, it'll be weird not sleeping in the nursery surrounded by all the other queens.. but I think it'll be fun to watch them learn to be warriors. And even then, after a few moons, we can always have a few more?" Her gaze shifted up to Swiftleap with a soft glimmer of hope, though a loneliness clouded their depths.

Volekit giggled at Treekit, happy with his brothers attempts at the crouch. The little tom attempted on his own soon after, before Ivypaw could answer, but ended up shifting his weight too heavily onto his side and stumbled quietly. With an embarrassed shake he shuddered, remembering that it could take a little while to learn the crouch anyways.

Timberheart // tags: Rosethorn
Timberheart lead the way out of camp, ignoring Raggedpaw's cross look as he left. His steps were confident, like he knew each part of the forest by heart, even the twigs weren't in his path. His posture relaxed as they left the busy parts of the territory and continued on their way. It wouldn't take long for Rosethorn to spot the meeting place of their ancestors.

Cliffleg trudged back to camp, her whiskers twitching at the warm prey in her jaw. She'd spent much of the morning so far out, even if enjoying the rising sun wasn't exactly a warrior duty. Her sleek pelt moved with the shadows as she slid back to camp, as soundlessly as a snake.

Frostpaw shot up from his nest, his pelt springing multiple directions. "Ah sorry!",the tom called and shook out his pelt trying to lay it back down. The tom looked up seeing his apprentice before getting on his paws. "Yeah I'm awake. What's up squirt?" Otterleap meowed before he gave a smile at the tom. 'Squirt' had always been a little nickname he gave his apprentice.
