This is The Tree That Owns Itself. One man fell in love with the tree and publicly gave ownership of the tree, and all land within eight feet (2.4 meters) of the base, to the tree itself, almost two hundred years ago. A hundred years ago, thanks to erosion and rot caused in part by an ice storm, the tree died and fell over (estimated to be between 150-400 years old at the time). A "son" of the original tree (grown from an acorn) was planted in the same spot and is considered to have inherited the land. Both are/were located in Athens, Georgia, USA.

The rainbow eucalyptus is found mostly in the Pacific Islands (the one in the first shot above is from Kauai). The strange coloration happens when the surface layer of bark falls off. The bark underneath starts off brown and then changes colors over time, giving the tree its rainbow effect.

Tree Pic: the tree Thunder loves most is the wisteria tree. He finds the trees to be mesmerizing, and when he sees them it's almost as if they are unreal and he is in a dream or a fairy tale. When the stands under one he will often look up at through the canopy with awe, feeling as if he were in another world, one completely alien to him as he admires the view. He will lie down under the the blossoms draped from the branches and enjoy the peace that seems to envelope the area, the sunlight seeping through the petals makes the ground around him seem magical. He loves how the trees colors could vary drastically, from soft and muted tones to bold and vibrant hues, but nonetheless he finds all the colors and variations to be enchanting. photo

This photo is from Ashikaga Flower Park in Japan's Tochigi, they have made tunnels of wisteria trees where you can walk under the dangling blossoms.

I thought this was really cool and I loved the name. I also liked the giant sequoia and the tree that owns it self, but congrats σptιmus primє!
