favorite food memory: Carmen let out a loud sneeze when the cloud of white flour attacked him from the cupboard.
Now where is it? He knew that his roommate had hidden the cookies from him due to his unhealthy cookie addiction,
but that wasn't going to stop him, was it? Nothing would come between Carmen & his food. He dusted the flour off of his
face & scanned the cupboard. A single chocolate chip cookie dangled loosely from a thread above. You would play me
like this, Raury, Carmen shook his head as he pulled a stool under the cupboard. Sadly, Carmen could not reach the
treat, even with the support of the stool. His futile swipes at the cookie was short lived when the stool toppled over.

(im not that good at writing so bear with me, lol)ᴀ ᴛɪᴍᴇ ғᴏʀ ʀᴇғʟᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ>>>>>>>Warm scents drifted down the corridor, causing the empty stomachs of wandering students to growl, wanting just a small taste of whatever it was that was wafting in the air. It was the kind of smell that made you feel warm on a cold winters day, to snuggled up in layers of blankets with a warm drink across from the fireplace. It was one of those days after all, a blizzard beat down on the glass windows of the castle, threatening to break the thin panes as the wind beat down mercilessly. The cold bit at the noses and toes of students who did not dress warm enough for classes. The smell filled the castle with its warm scents, and it came from the kitchen, from a small group of Hufflepuff’s, baking their hearts away.>>>>>>>Oliver Brown loved to cook, and bake, and just all things food. He loved to eat, share, and make it. He was often told he was the Oliver Wood of food. Just as Wood had been obsessed with quidditch, Brown was obsessed with food. Some found it funny that they both shared a similar name and had obsessions that could easily mirror each other. Oliver Brown never really cared much about playing quidditch. He would watch, and cheer on his fellow schoolmates, but baking was his specialty. At home he would cook for his family and make treats with his muggle friends during his breaks away from Hogwarts. It was a new experience coming to Hogwarts his first year and having all the food prepared for him. He was used to cooking with his family and bonding over the home cooked meal. Having the house elves prepare everything felt strange to him. He was glad, however, that the Hufflepuff dormitory was near to the kitchen. He made friends with the house elves and they allowed him to bake cookies and cakes when he wanted, and when he wasn’t in the mood to cook as rare as it was, they allowed him to take biscuits and treats to his dorm.>>>>>>>Oliver’s mother was a muggle. He never got to know his real father, whom he learns later in life was a wizard. He had died in unknown circumstances when Oliver was young. He grew up in a small but loving household with his mother, aunt, uncle, and cousin. His mother would always tell him how one day they would have a house of their own, with a big kitchen and a yard, when she could afford it. But Oliver didn't mind. he loved playing with his cousin and cooking in the small kitchen with his mother and aunt. It was a bit of a shock when his Hogwarts letter came. No one knew what to think of it, and didn't know whether or not to take it seriously. A school for magic?>>>>>>>But it was one of the best things that could have happened to Oliver. He loved Hogwarts and he made many friends. He would cook with them whenever he could in the warm kitchen by the dorms. Just like now. He held a large bowl to his chest, vigorously stirring a delicious chocolaty brownie batter. The smell of it was wonderful. One of his friends sat across from him, pulling a fresh cake out from an oven, its scent intertwining with the rest, sending Oliver into heaven. His belly growled, even though he knew it was far from empty. He loved moments like this. The sound of pots and pans clattering as he and his fellow Hufflepuff’s, and even a few students from other houses, made treats. And he felt so warm, despite knowing outside the temperatures were bitter cold. He felt utter bliss.>>>>>>>Oliver looked around at the counter at the scattered mess of flour milk sugar and everything needed for their recipes. It was a mess, ingredients spilled everywhere, on the walls and floors, a sticky mess that would be impossible to clean up back home without the use of magic. He would write his mother as often as he could, telling her of all the wonders of the wizarding world, sending her pictures that moved and chocolate frogs and Bertie Botts every flavor beans. He told her of the wonderful Butterbeer and how he has tried to perfect the recipe himself but has never made anything as good as what you could get at Hogsmeade. He would bring home with him all the candies he could carry to share with his mother and cousin. He wished he could show them all the wonderful things he learned at Hogwarts, but magic was not allowed for minors outside of the school grounds. He and his mother never stopped bonding over their love for food and treats.>>>>>>>Oliver pored the batter into a pan and put it in the oven. Cooking calmed him down and allowed him to sink back into his own little world, to think and reflect. He would think about his life, and what he wanted to do with it. He would love to open a candy shop of his own, like the one back in Hogsmeade, or maybe a bakery. The thought excited him. Whatever he ended up doing with his life, he wanted food to be a major part of it. maybe he would end up in the muggle world as a chief and own his own restaurant. But that didn't sound as exciting as anything he could become in the magical world.>>>>>>>A first year Hufflepuff dipped her fingers into batter and licked them clean. Oliver thought of the first time he made anything with his mother. She was showing him how to make her famous brownies. They were delicious and everyone loved them. He was being bullied that day, back at school. The other kids would pick on him because he wasn't as well off, didn't have as fancy clothing, and things to the like. He just never fit in with the other kids at school. That specific day was especially bad. It was fathers day. Oliver always felt bad for not ever getting to know his father. The other kids would talk of their fathers as heroes and a lucky few would have their fathers take a day off work to visit the school and talk about what they did. It wasn't like there weren't other kids with a missing parent, or even both, but they found it so much easier to pick on Oliver about it, he was more vulnerable, felt more sensitive, on the subject. In a way, he blamed himself for his fathers death. That day had been especially bad for poor Oliver brown. The bullying became physical as they pushed and shoved him around the playground, trying to get more of a reaction from him. Oliver managed to escape with hardly a scratch thanks to his, at the time unbeknownst to him, magic. He even managed to hurt one of his bullies, getting himself in trouble.
>>>>>>>He came home that day, crying. His mother tried to comfort him, and introduced to him his love for cooking. She brought him to the kitchen and asked him what his favorite homemade treat was. Oliver managed to stop crying, finally calming down, and so they started to make brownies. He had helped in the kitchen before, gathering ingredients and stirring, but never really made anything by himself. His mother told him what to do, and showed him how to do it, but she let him do it on his own. It was calming and rewarding to him. The brownies were delicious and they ate them all right away, while they were still warm, stuffing their bellies. He felt better. Oliver liked to think that if it wasn't for his father he may have not become who he is today, even though he never met him. He feels like they have always known each other. He loves him. >>>>>>> His attention was brought back to reality when he realized his brownies were done. he pulled on an oven mit and pulled it out, placing it on the table top, joining the many different desserts, pies, cakes, biscuits and more.
His life truly was magical
