At first glance, one might say that Ray lived up to his name because he was a bright ball of sunshine. Sweet and bubbly, he always finds a way to make someone's day. He likes to cheer people up whenever they're down, sometimes by doing something so silly it's impossible not to laugh. He isn't afraid to make a fool of himself as long as it helps someone feel better. But his name, too, has a deeper meaning. The name "Ray" also means protector, and as a conservationist, that's what he aims to do. Some might be surprised to think that deserts need protecting, but it's true. There are those who use the desert as their own personal trash can, and it's not uncommon to see places where people just dump off their junk. This is incredibly harmful to the wildlife, and if there's enough pollution, the ecosystem gets thrown out of whack. Ray has taken it upon himself to do what he can for the desert he lives in, often getting up in the cool hours of the morning to go hunt around for any garbage that's been carelessly tossed. He has a team to help him with the bigger dumps, and together they can work to clean things up. In his search for trash, he also finds injured or sick animals. He's not the best with the creatures, but one of his teammates is, so he'll carefully do what he can to get the critter to her so it can feel better. Ray does everything he can for the desert, the beautiful place that he's called home, and would be absolutely devastated if something disastrous were to affect it. That being said, he wouldn't hesitate for a second to fix what had been damaged and rebuild his home. (300/300)
