Why:: By the song's title, you'd think it's a song about not caring. But, at least to me, it means a whole lot more than that. The lyrics reference plenty of times things that the writer wished they were doing, but they were just laying around instead. They are both frustrated by that and unable--or unwilling--to change it. This is a huge source of frustration and pain for me in my actual life. Each of my kals (and most of my characters in general) have little bits of me in them. Etera has my wanderlust, Alana my manipulative side, Anne my love for podcasts (and my escape into them), etc. Lepus would have this part of me; a part that I hate. He too would feel frustrated with himself for being unable to clean up his bunk and to eat properly and to not control his crew, and yet he would be overlooking many of the accomplishments he's made already. Like the fact that he's a captain on a space station, something that requires amazing dedication and effort. To him, it feels as if it came naturally so somehow it doesn't count, which of course is cruel to himself.
Idk if his story would have much meaning to anyone else, but it would have plenty of meaning to me and it would encourage me to do better at, well, accomplishing things, but also recognizing what I have accomplished.
