urban legend:
The thing within the most stirred, flashing darker shadows against the trees. A trick of the light, perhaps, a figure brought upon by the imagination. Surely there was nothing really there? Of course not. You walk faster anyway.

The towns people warned of a dog that had gotten lost within the woods, falling through a hole into the dark caves below. Her owner had followed in an effort to save his dog, and had fallen through the soft earth.

The caves had been torturous for the Kalon the locals had come to call Jasper. They said you could see him on cold winter nights, beckoning for his dog within the most. If you look closely, you can see her, maybe even hear her bark. A few locals said they'd personally seen the dog, her eyes glowing dangerously white before disappearing back into the fog.

Legend doesn't say much more beyond this. Some locals say they saw Jasper a week later, malnourished, nail beds dirty with grime, hair tangled as he literally crawled up from the ground. Other locals don't believe anything, saying they know Jasper died deep underground in his search for his beloved companion.

how to summon:
Some claim Jasper a friendly spirit, but others say he's only appeared to troubled souls in an effort to bring them beneath the earth as he once was. Whether it is malicious, or done out of loneliness is up to debate.

If, for a reason, you would wish to summon Jasper, you would wait until the 18th of November and sneak into the old fields behind the abandoned waste water facility. There, the ground is soft and you can see a set of footprints overlapping soft paw prints in the mud. If you simply call for him, he will answer you.

a poem goes with this legend, with a fairly deep meaning.
they say that she comes out on hallowe'en, the day to
celebrate the dead. you can spot her roaming on the
edge of the woods, looking for more sight to steal.
follows her is a group of shadows, and she leaves
behind a sweet citrus scent.

poem meaning:
if you believe that darkness is better than light, then you
might be right. but you may forget this, and ashtaroth, who
may be a witch, truly knows that you believe light is better.
so, to spread her darkness she strips away your sight, so you
can never see the light of day again.nwith this sight, your eyes,
it becomes the ghostly shadows that follow her, becoming her
eyes, so she can see all.

how to summon;;
they say that if you wish to summon her, at any
time of year, you must chant the poem in Arabic:


"yaqul albaed 'anah 'iidha kunt taetaqid 'akthar min aldaw'
thm kunt qad yakun mjrd haqin
wnusyan dhlk qad kunt walikun
wlkn sahiratan ymkn 'an 'aqul fi allayl
maa faealtuh eindama kan mushriqaan

wmin thim, hadha hu alsabab aldhy daea allay"


but not only this, you must have something to offer
to her- to bring her to you, so she doesn't steal your
own sight.
some things you can offer her is another pair of eyes,
so she doesn't take your sight.
or you could summon her using an elixir, a spell,


-a withered rose
-ash of a branch from the largest willow tree
-a rotten citrus fruit, or just on the brim of rotting
-shattered glass
-the fresh blood of any living creature


then you would use these things in a unknown combination,
to summon her.

they say that the way you use the things is by using the
shattered glass to spill the blood first, spilling it onto both
the citrus fruit and withered rose, and lastly, sprinkling
the ash over the rest, all while chanting the poem.

inally just a kalon looking for a lost dog! and I like how different
people believe different things about him, really gives a true fe
el to the legend. the name of him kinda makes me think that wh
en he fell through the dirt he was cursed by the crystal, jasper-
haha

@Northstar. I enjoyed the story of calamity aa! I also really li
ke how you prettied the form up, and how its a grandmother te
lling the younger ones about the story, and then a second persp
ective of how shes summoned! ive never read a 2nd pov as ama
