She was always the most loved, the most treasure filly of her herd. To them, she was their pulsing ray of sunlight, always shining and alive with energy. That was before the accident and her sister came along. When her brother, Nadia was born, Meredith surrounded her with so much love. Not long after, Meredith lost her dam to an unknown sickness. After that, she retreated into a shell, trying to hide away from the world that had taken away her mother. No longer did she show any compassion to her sibling, and Nadia quickly became their new treasure, Meredith cast aside. And all this time, Meredith noticed. For days, she struggled to keep her jealousy and grief she had bottled up from exploding. The days dragged into weeks, the weeks into months, and the months into years. Meredith began to wander away from her herd, and on one of her expeditions, she met a stallion by the name of Eli. He followed her, as she withdrew from her homelands, and to the very edge of a desolate sea. There, he confronted her and began to travel with her. As the days went on, he gained her trust, and coaxed her out of her shell, into the filly she once was. Over time, they became the closest of friends, and perhaps even more than that. One day, Eli confessed that he loved her, and Meredith indeed felt the same towards him. In his eyes, she was the most beautiful and the only one for him. Their herd grew and grew, until one night, they met Meredith's old herd. It was then that she met Nadia again, whom she had neglected for the past years. Meredith's grief and jealousy finally reached it's breaking point, and she cried and rejoiced upon seeing her sister again. Her sister grew happy, also, but they departed with a sad goodbye. Meredith was a mare, a leader of a herd, and the rose of her valley. Something she had never imagined would happened after her dam passed on.

Extra: The water flowed gracefully passed the rocks and down the path leading to bigger ripples. It was early, the birds have just calmed down with their chirping. They always go on a chirping spree as soon as the ticks hit the 5 and 12. All that could be heard is the soft sound of water splashing as it ran downstream. The common Robin could be heard from above. The morning sunlight broke through the branches, glistening off of the water as it swished and swirled. Minos swam under the cold liquid blanket in quick movements. Thump. The heavy hoof belonging to a seal brown mare appeared in the soft dirt close to the waters edge. Her long neck stretched down and her lips parted to take a sip out of the clear water. The colorful leaves fell gracefully to the dusty ground as a slight breeze whistled around the canopy. A red and yellow leaf landed next to the mares hoof. Life began to move all around, the squirrels ran around in the trees, fish jumped slightly out of the water to catch small insects, and in the woods across from the stream was a doe and her spotted fawn. The mare began to walk back to her pasture where the sunlight was now more vibrant. Her coat glistened in the light, and what was even better is that she was now warming up. Her lips picked at the dying grass, trying to scrounge for what was left of the hot summer. Her ears perked in an alert position as she heard her rider coming with a brand new square of hay. Unami whinnied and jogged over to the yummy hay and her ears went back to a relaxed position. Her head lifted high as she chewed the tan colored straw. The other horses could be seen and they were grazing just as happily as Unami! Maybe it is just too early for the mayhem, but the mornings are calmer than ever.
