dear diary,

Something very embarrassing happened today.
I, Ginger Enid Blackwood, was entered into this years 62nd Annual Cranberry County Spelling Bee.
Technically I didn't qualify, but the winner at my school got shot in the eye with a paintball gun
during gym class so he couldn't be here today. But I got second place so here I am.
I'm not very smart. And I'm not a very good speller, so I didn't really know what's going to happen,
but I thought I had a shot at winning!
I think the only reason I won was because no one else wanted to win really. But I had never really
won anything before, so I thought it was a good opportunity.
I got to go up to the microphone about four times before I was disqualified. The word was lugubrious,
which means sorrowful. I didn't know that when I went up there, though. I had to look
at the dictionary when I got home.
On my second word, which was Chimerical, meaning a grotesque product of the imagination, or highly
unrealistic. I tripped on my way to the microphone. I wore my favorite shoes that day, too. Maybe next
time I should be more careful with opportunities.
I'm not very smart.
