despite judgement from her peers in high school, etc., vika always loved dressing up for halloween. she always found such joy in dressing up and either going trick or treatings (as a kid)ro just handing out candy or hosting halloween parties. for halloween of 2017, vika decided to be...the arthur meme. arthur was her favorite show when she was a kid, and since the "arthur meme" came to life she decided to be a cute, trendy arthur! she tried to get one of her friends to go as buster the rabbitm but none of them really wanted to be such a "childish" costume.

Vika gave a satisfied smile as she finished tying her hair into two buns at the top of her head to represent her arthur ears. Standing in front of her floor-length mirror, she admired her costume. Blue jeans, a white dress shirt and a mustard yellow sweater, paired with some converse and cute oversize glasses. she did a spin to check out all the angles, and headed downstairs. it was 7:00pm, and Vika assumed that trick or treaters would start arriving soon. She grabbed her fancy halloween candy bowl and dumped all the best candies into it. Reese's and m&m's and Snickers and Skittles and everything else. She even had a few full size bars for her favorite regulars. Quickly stepping out onto her front porch, Vika admired the decorations she had put up. Fake cobwebs everywhere and 5 or so nicely carved jack-o-lanterns. She had changed her porch lights to be orange in color, and had put lots of cute but spooky ghost and other decorations in her yard. This was going to be a great halloween.

-TRICK OR TREAT TIME -

"Bye, love your costume!" Vika called as she waved goodbye to the trick-or-treater. She shut the door behind her and looked at her candy bowl. The traffic had been busy this year, and she was running low. She checked the time, noting that it was only 8:30pm. She had at least another half hour till most kids will have gone home. After quickly refilling her candy bowl, Vika hard the doorbell ring again. She opened it to find two litle girls, one in an arthur costume and one in a buster costume. Their little faces broke out into huge grins when they realized that Vika had the same costume as them. Vika easily returned their smile. "You're arthur too!" the girl in the arthur costume squealed excitedly. Vika nodded. "I am! I love your costumes, girls!" she responded enthusiastically, looking past them and waving at the mom waiting for them on the street. Vika crouched down to get to eye level with the two. "You know what, since I like your costumes so much, i'm going to give you tons of candy!" she stage whispered. Standing back up, Vika grabbed four full-sized chocolate bars and put two in each of the girls candy buckets. Then she grabbed a handful of candy from the bowl and put those in their bags as well. The two girls were shocked and they thanked Vika multiple times. "No problemo!" she said, waving as they walked away. After the last few trick-or-treaters had come and gone, Vika turned off her porch lights and locked her door. Going upstairs, she changed into her pajamas and climbed into bed, smiling all the way. She heaved a sigh and fell asleep the moment her head it the pillow. Halloween 2017? Conquered!
