How she feels about Halloween: Audrey much prefers Thanksgiving. No crazy jumpscares, no weird and creepy viscets or decorations around, just spending time with family and eating good food. Autumn is her favorite season, with the chilly “sweater weather”, hot cocoa, pumpkin everything, and getting to use up all the scented candles that she hoarded all year long. But Halloween for her, doesn’t really give that opprotunity. Instead of seeing a bunch of shops of autumn decorations, she gets to stare at a skeleton in a tattered cloak outside, its glowing eyes staring at everyone that passes under it. It makes her uncomfortable just thinking about it. Who would like that? It’s just...dumb, in the end. She does her best to ignore all of the hype over it, and snuggle up in a blanket in front of the fireplace to watch some good ol’ Hallmark movies, preferably with a loved one.
How she got covered in Toilet Paper: Once Halloween rolled around, Audrey was being poked and prodded by her friends to join them in their rounds around the neighborhood, claiming she could just go to the houses that had decently nice décor on their porch, and get candy from them, rather than going up to every door with lights on. She was skeptical at first. Why go through the trouble to get candy when she could go to the store, and buy three bags of cheap wrapped suckers for a buck? It wasn’t worth it, in her opinion, but after they seemed down at her denial, she accepted and gave in to walk around one block, but that was it.
The one problem was, she didn’t have a decent costume. She never bought one, and wore pretty casual clothing. It was hard to manipulate it enough to look like a DIY project, or something recognizable. Her friends did all they could, throwing things like berry dyes and random fabrics on her. It all looked hideous, honestly. Audrey was beginning to think that it would be impossible, when she noticed that one of her friends was taking her delicate time to roll out as much toilet paper onto her floor as possible. For what, not even she knew. But Audrey walked over, tossed a clump on her head, and seemed satisfied. “I’m a lazy mummy,” she told her friends, a small smile on her muzzle. “I didn’t care enough. Just like I don’t now.” She rolled her eyes, but her friends decided that she had hit her peak in this search, and headed out to the neighborhood, Audrey trailing beside and chatting alongside them.
Even though she wasn’t all that enthused about the “holiday”, she could at least appreciate her friends wanting to include her, however ridiculous she looked in the end.
