Halloween sima #75- White tiger

Postby Ember the Wolf » Tue Oct 24, 2017 9:36 am

Somehow in the darkness of the night you ended up in the woods, the trees stretch skyward ominously and you glance around and find yourself staring into two very scary looking eyes, a growl rumbles softly from the brush and you are approached by the large predator.

The first time you heard them roar: The first time I heard his roar was when he happened to step on a thorn. Never before, not when he'd been taunted, pestered, or otherwise annoyed had he let out such a sound, but it was the sharp and sudden pain of the thorn that drew forth the first roar I heard. The hair on the back of my neck rose. I'd always seen Greyborne as a sweet boy, but such a roar and there's no way to forget that he is a strong predator. Though, I know with all my heart, he would never hurt me.

The first time you heard them roar: It was hilarious the first time I heard Kaiser roar, I was teasing him about how quiet and girly he was so he tried to prove how "manly" he is by doing his best roar. Well he tried and all that came out was a failed squeak, he was so embarrassed his face turned as red as a tomato.

The first time you heard them roar:

The lights flicked, distant screams and guttural groans filled the narrow hallway with an uneasy feeling. The faded grey walls were streaked with crimson which was designed to appear both old and new. The doorway leading towards the exit ended in a small room with a chain holding a red eyed sima, who's face was covered in freshly dried blood, nearly hung by her hands from the ceiling in the corner of what could have been described as a broom closet, her feet comfortably standing on a wooden plank which seemed to barely close the gap between the walls that met at the corner. Most of the time when simas came in she'd attempt to charge at them, thrashing her arms in an attempt to free herself before snapping at whomever had entered the room in an effort to escape-and sometimes, she did. Chasing whom ever dared to test her bonds by showing their comrades how unafraid they were of her by planting themselves in front of her before looking back at their friends and pointing.
From what the friend who'd pressured him into helping out the haunted house, the red eyed sima in the next room, had told him, not many had worked up the courage to do so after making their way threw the vampire infested home, but the few who did either peed themselves or didn't stop running until they reach the next attraction frightmares had set up.
Meanwhile on the other end of the hall Joel lie and wait. The entrance to the final stretch of the house rest four feet in front of the coffin door, which pertained a large slit in it so that those who passed by could see his eyes, at the start of the hallway. From there he'd hold fast against a cloth strap that'd been glued down to the inside of the frame, and scratch against it- sometimes beating the wooden surface as if it were nailed down. Others he'd kick the door into the wall, lunging at the nest's victims, and if they ran, thundering down the hall after them. Snarls, growls, guttural sounds, and heavy breaths of air escaping him all the while, his choice of noise almost always tailored to what he believed would frighten the group of simas before him, best.
After a few hours, and a couple place changes- one of which was into the multi level room where a play forum was fashioned to be five feet off the ground, he'd been made to sit in a barrel and jump out when large groups passed by- he found himself in the coffin he'd started in. With the crowds dying down, the director of the attraction sent smaller groups into the well organized twisting line of houses, where you walked from one to the other, up a make shift subway, to another, and so forth. By this time the fake blood he'd started the night with that'd been slashed randomly across his face, splattered across the clothing the facility provided, and methodically smudged around his jaw, dripped from his protruding teeth down his neck; was fading away. He rubbed his eyes with his free hand while the other held the door closed. Upon request the lights stopped flickering from forty present power to twenty whenever customers weren't in the building, in an effort to keep workers from getting a headache, and told to keep water bottles within reach.
With the last run of the night upon them, Joel, unlike many of the volunteers, felt the need to turn in early. Giving one of the works who'd previously been wandering around the ski rental's property while on break a chance to take his place. With heavy feet, Joel slowly made his way back towards what doubled as both a make up room and a place to leave your stuff. On the way however, he spotted a pair of simas he hadn't expected to see after graduating elementary school. Instinctively he felt like running, since blending into the shadows had never really been an option due to lighting in school and the way his snowy white fur stood out against the primary and secondary colors in the halls. For a moment he worried they'd throw rocks at him or try to pull some kind of prank, but after catching a glimpse of himself in the mirror, he had a better idea. Careful so as not to be seen, he trotted back to the house exit with a new energy.
"Hadria?" He asked, his eyes readjusting as he peering into the room.
"Yes?"
"Oh good you're still here."
"Of course I am. What are you doing here? Thought you were punching out early." He smiled at the excitement in her voice.
"I did." He said rushing into the room and pressing himself flat against the wall next to where the hall made its final turn before poring into the room before the exit. "But there's something I have to do first."
She rolled her eyes at him. "Fine but close the door."
With the door closed they waited in silence. Joel was keenly aware of the fact that he could make a mad dash for he door at any point, save himself from getting potentially punched in the nose for the unplanned scare. As he waited he couldn't tell if that was the sound of their foot steps thundering towards him or his heart beat pounding in his ears. He wasn't sure until the sima who took his place in the coffin's snarl reached echoed in his ears. Claws scraped against the walls as the group scampered towards the exit. Hadria started fighting against the chains which supposedly bound her there, making a mix between what could be described as a scream and a snarl. With a jerking motion she made it appear as though she'd suddenly freed herself from the her chain the moments after they'd busy into the room and made a break for the door. Joel slammed his paws against the wall behind him so as to grab their attention, letting out all the rage he'd felt throughout his years in elementary school in what he'd expected to be a mix between a growl and something deeper came out as the most fearsome noise he'd ever heard himself make. Hadria and Joel fallowed the pair out the door and watched them run in terror towards the next house.
"Did you know those guys?" Hadria said, crossing her arms, satisfied with the last run of the day.
"Just a couple of jerks I used to go to school with." Joel shook his head, unhappy with the glimpse of terror he'd seen in his former terrorizers eyes.
"Well that was one heck of a roar that they probably won't be forgetting all to soon." He nodded in agreement with her statement but still couldn't help but feel like they got off easy. "I know I won't." She continued. "Didn't know you had it in you." He blushed at the compliment, unable to hold back a smile. The glimpse he got may have been brief but the gratification he got from chasing after them with Hadria was one he hoped he'd never forget, especially since that's been the first time anyone had heard him roar publicly.
