Why?; It's a simple yet challenging, thought-provoking and fun riddle. Alani is a bit of a puzzle addict, and riddles are no different. It's nice to take a break from the hectic stress of every day life and just focus wholly on a puzzle or riddle. It helps her calm down. This particular riddle is worded elegantly and a little more challenging than some. She heard it first as a kit at a carnival game, and has been infatuated ever since.

Cocoa loves this riddle because of how hard it makes people think, but to no avail. It has no answer! The police were called at 9:00 Am a stressed father and mother reported that their daughter, age 17 had gone missing and left behind a tape

I have no idea who will be watching this tape first, though it will probably be my parents...
I don't know where to start, I guess I should say why I'm doing this? I don't know if it's obvious but...
I'm done with being treated the way I am, I made 'friends' and they forced something on me that I didn't like and they didn't even care! So this is to show everyone who I am, maybe everyone will see this tape, well let me tell you something that hardly any of you would guess, I love riddles, I really do, so let's play a little game, you solve my riddles, you'll find where I am
so, the first riddle, it's quite easy and it's not my favourite one, but they'll get harder"

"A pet shop owner had a parrot with a sign on its cage that said, "Parrot repeats everything it hears." A young man bought the parrot and for two weeks he spoke to it and it didn't say a word. He returned the parrot but the shopkeeper said he never lied about the parrot. How can this be?"

Update: The parents have asked for the case to be made public, anyone who solves the riddle will be rewarded in cash

Update: The answer was the parrot was deaf, we found out that the word deaf changed into the numbers "4516" which was the password to her safe, a scrapbook was found inside

The answer was post office, it was the password to her phone, the last clue was found in texts to herself, the same texts that came back were deleted and the screenshot was cropped for it to be a little bit easier

when I planned this whole thing I didn't expect I'd become an "internet sensation" or whatever my mother called it, I'm surprised I got so popular, and I'd like to thank all the people who sent me riddles on my social media, I'm solving all of them, one by one, I actually know a few! and as for my friends... they aren't really my friends anymore, but I don't really mind, I'm making new ones every day, though I have to make sure they aren't using me for followers, I'm not on good terms with my parents, I shouldn't have scared them like that, but I guess I was still grieving over my grandad and that was the only way I could cope, right?

her reasoning for this being her favorite riddle is because it stumped her for such a long time as a young kit. a friend had told her the riddle, and she spent days upon days sitting by the water of the river, pondering the answer. the river was her favorite place to go - so calm and relaxing. she could easily recall the day that the answer finally came to her whilst staring into the water, and she suddenly felt so excited to have figured it out, though a little embarrassed as to how obvious it truly was.

I like it because no one thinks about the letters they're trying to figure out an event and it gets a lot of people tripped up.

A rhythmic cadence. Something that could be put inside a poem. It sounds so ... romantic. I love this riddle for that. Not only that, it presents a slightly twisted reality. It is so beautifully twisted. And the answer, "night falls but doesn't break and day breaks but doesn't fall", gives it even more philosophical beauty. Something so normal as day and night can be phrased so morbidly. But I guess it could also apply to something else...

I've always felt abandoned. As a child, I jumped foster homes only to return to the streets. As an adult, I jump jobs. Nothing is stable and nothing ties me down. It was when I was running from older kids that I noticed the beauty of life. The sun rise over the rusted stairways. The grass patches peeking in sidewalk cracks. Romantic ballads flowing out of crowded pizzerias. The dusky air enveloping the city. Sure, it was chaotic but at least it was beautiful.

As these strange men muffled my yells, I felt anger. There were observers who silently glanced my way than kept walking. I had spotted a couple of my street buddies but turns out, they didn't care either. It was then, as the van rumbled on, I saw the twisted part of life. Strangers were too busy to stop a kidnapping. My buddies were too concerned with their survival to help. A dim light shone through the crack, teasing me on how right outside this shabby van was freedom. My legs were slowly losing circulation and my head was slowly drooping. I spotted a camera to my right and heard laughter from the cabin. Now I felt certain that my previous, blind, naive judgement of life was wrong. Life is mostly twisted with a splotch of beauty.

"Hi... Um, would you like a seat?"

A couple years after my kidnapping had passed by. Turns out they just wanted a daughter. So I obliged but sadly, their antics hadn't stopped. They insisted on making me their pet project, spoiling me with riches and freedoms only to snatch them away. I ran far away to this cafe. There I fell in love with this one customer who frequented the cafe. He'd always order a mocha cappuccino and sit in the same spot, up against the bookshelf. We talked and laughed. I sincerely thought that life was beautiful once more. Goes to show how gullible I am.

Then, my heart broke. It wasn't until later that I saw a note and it said, "What falls but doesn't break and what breaks but doesn't fall?" I instantly thought of love. I had fallen in love and my heart had broke. But, I had endured a kidnapping. That type of thing changes the victims yet here I was still a lovey-dovey girl. I thought about it and then as the sun set over the cafe, I knew. This twisted riddle had multiple answers. It was open ended but for me, the best answer is a beautiful one. Because after all, I am beautifully twisted.
