Dinzi's being used: Tim, Hua de Lili, Rashida, Qeizei
Prompt answer: A large, square lump of fabric is offered. You can’t make out what it is, but it seems to have sharp claws, judging from the occasional spider-like limb poking out. It's moving. Hua de Lili looks proud of whatever it is, while Tim is in the back, avoiding eye contact. Qeizei and Rashida are watching it closely, though Qeizei looks more ready to run and Rashida looks more ready to fight. You’re not liking the feeling of this. Tim is pushed to the front.
Tim: We, uh.. Decided to carve some pumpkins together. And, um, here. Take them.
Tim starts backing away, looking nervously at Hua de Lili, who violently motions towards the sheet. Tim sighs, and approaches it slowly, snagging the edge with his claws and immediately jumping away. It’s a cage. The inside is still too dark to see into, but a large spider leg cuts through the darkness to stab into the metal where Tim just had his paw. He squeaks loudly, but continues, although shakily.
Tim: So.. Uh, as you can probably see, they aren’t normal pumpkins.
Hua de Lili pushes him aside, smiling.
Hua de Lili: I made them, special just for this Halloween! I mean, they weren’t exactly the easiest to carve, but I think they’ll suit your home perfectly.
After a moment of fumbling with their possessions, Hua de Lili pulls out a flashlight and shines it at the cage. The presumed pumpkins hiss and scramble away. They were somewhat smaller than the ones you would see in stores, and had eight of the spider limbs from earlier extending out of the bottom of each pumpkin. There are four. They have angry faces carved on, but as you watch it, the pumpkin spins to reveal… another face? Multiple faces, huh.
Hua de Lili: As you… probably just saw, they have multiple faces, so you can tell if it wants to fight you or not. If you let these suckers out of this cage, I suggest putting leashes on them. Metal ones would be best, but those legs aren’t as strong or sharp as they look, so leather or something could probably hold them. Promise. They don’t even really have teeth!
Rashida cups her paws around her mouth and stage whispers to you.
Rashida: Don’t follow in Lili’s footsteps, just use metal leashes. I can tell you, there were more than just four before we got here! Even if they can’t bite too hard, given enough time, they can chew through leather.
Qeizei is muttering quietly to himself, but you can catch just what he is saying.
Qeizei: Yeah, be careful the next time you go for a nice walk in the woods, just in case you get jumped by living pumpkins.
Hua de Lili glares at the two of them, but steps up to the cage, opening it and quickly grabbing one of the pumpkins inside. Tim hastily runs up to shut the cage, shooting a look at Hua de Lili.
Hua de Lili: This is the one I carved, by the way. Here, I’ll turn it a bit so you can see the entire thing.
The face currently staring at you has a crudely carved expression of anger, teeth bared and eyes narrowed. After a few moments, it spins to reveal one that looks more curious. It has no visible mouth, and the eyes seem a bit softer and bigger. Hua de Lili pets it on the head, and it spins to a blank expression. You assume it doesn’t have one for happiness, it being created for Halloween and all. Hua de Lili seems lost in thought for a second, before manually turning the pumpkin around to to a face of fear.
Hua de Lili: Yeah, don’t know why I added this last one. Can’t remove it now, but I hope it won’t be able to seen unless you literally turn the guy around. I don’t know who’d want to scare em’ anyway, but who knows.
Shrugging, Hua de Lili pushes the pumpkin back into the cage and waves their paw in the direction of the others.
Hua de Lili: All the pumpkins generally have the same expression set, but I think somehow they were able to carve their own expressions onto themselves? I’m not sure where the space needed comes from, but it happened somehow.
Hua de Lili glances suspiciously at the other ditzis, before whispering to you.
Hua de Lili: Well, uh, except for Qeizei. He did make, like one face, but most of them are just weird symbols. I wouldn’t trust them.
Hua de Lili continues rambling while you observe the pumpkins. Hua de Lili’s is sitting calmly, watching you. It seems to trust you now, somewhat. You automatically spot Tim’s - the carvings are cleaner. It’s one of a realistic wolf face, watching you warily. There were both deep and lighter indents to indicate different values, and every hair almost seemed individually carved. Rashida’s is very simple, and mostly consists of classic pumpkin faces you would normally see. Qeizei’s is in the very back, avoiding the light. It’s pumpkin is rapidly spinning, flashing multiple symbols, both strange and familiar, though it's going too fast to really make sure. Unlike the others, it’s light inside seems to be duller. It suddenly freezes, before spinning to a expressionless face you assume is the face Qeizei carved. It starts to move around, and strangely, all evidence of the other carvings are gone.
