The shelter was so graciously invited to our local Diwali event this year. The people in charge saw it as an
opportunity to bring an unusual factor and knew the large crowd would provide many ample opportunities
for the animals in the shelter to find a new home. We were more than happy to accept and have set up our
own place near where most of the festivities will take place to showcase the many cats and dogs looking
for a home at the shelter. We hope the celebration draws in many potential adopters with its masses.

Willa thinks she is only here to do one job since she was broken while she was in the army. The people weren't very kind to her and they always made her do everything, so this how this song kind of goes with her.

Backstory: Willa is an imported dog from overseas. She was born in China, which is the home of most of the Kunming Wolfdog. The girl was taken from her mother early in life, way too early, just so they could train her. Willa was then sent to a military training camp for dogs, where they train these dogs to work and do whatever they are told.
Willa spent most of her young life training, her spirit being broken. A small pup turned into what seemed like an adult dog with no soul. Training course after training course, she was shaped into the mold of an older dog. She used to be the happiest pup of all the ones that had been transported over, now she was nothing but a shell of who she used to be. Plus the job she was being trained for was one of the most dangerous things that dogs could do. Bomb Sniffing or Detecting mines. Detecting Mines was Willa new job that she had been training for two years. Now, it was time for her to get to work.
The first day was probably the hardest. The pup hadn't been fully trained because the person who was supposed to be training them was either not there or was complaining to there commander about having to teach the canines, which Willa was wondering why the person wasn't fired. Plus she was picked last a partner since Kunming Wolfdogs are known as crossbreds that were bred back for Yunnan for many different types of military work. This was one of the many reasons she wasn't picked, the other was she was so quiet and looked like her soul was gone. In which she got stuck with a snob who had only joined for money, which he might get surprised when going mine detecting.
Time for Willa's first job, it didn't go too well. They barely survived do too many of the other dogs not finding the mines before her. This is why you need to have training for this. Still, all the dogs but her were sent back to the camp to be re-trained. Unforently for Willa, she was still partnered with the snob of an officer. She was even chained up by him at night so he wouldn't have to deal with the 'filthy animal'. This would have an even worse effect on Willa later in her work.
Now, skipping forward quite a while. Willa was still being tied up and actually starving now. Not being cared for, but nobody really paid much attention to the wolfdog. Still, now was the worse time for this to be happening. Wartime. She had to be sent out tomorrow to look for land mines in a nearby field outside of camp. Willa was getting extremely nervous since she wasn't really ready for this. Getting no sleep either, well, of course, her snobby 'trainer' did, but Willa? Nope, not a single wink of sleep that night. Now it was her big day. Time to get past the minefield.
Walking out everything seemed alright so far, nothing from what Willa could tell was around. Still, everyone was about to get a big surprise. Boom! Bang! Boom! Suprise enemy fire. Everyone scattered, leaving Willa behind, in the middle of it all. This was a bad thing that she had gotten herself into. Willa crawled on her belly, staying still a lot from the fire getting way to close for comfort. There was no cover for the small skinny female and there were also mines everywhere around her. The whole squad of soldiers she had been with was now gone. Gun shells littered the ground, ears ringing, eyes dusty, blood scattered on the dirt ground. It was a mess of an attack. Willa slowly crawled away from the minefield, just to find out that she had been injured during the attack.
If you look at Willa a lot, you can tell that she has something wrong with her right hind leg. She holds up most of the time. There is a reason for this. That day that her squad left her to die was also the day that she was shot. Willa has a small bullet hole scar on the front of that leg, and some issues with it. After weeks of waiting she was found, half dead, but still alive. She had had a brush with death. Willa will never forget those times at the military, she is now happy and safe in her new home with lots of friends to keep her safe.

Personality: We all already know that Willa kind of has this soulless personality, but she also has her old side. The only issue now is that she has PTSD or Post-traumatic stress disorder. Willa got this before being recused along time ago. While she has trouble with a lot of things do to it, we are working on helping her get through the tough and troubled times ahead with this. Still, we don't just want to hear about her PTSD. Let us learn more about this little pup who lost her way. Willa is an intelligent female, just like her cousins, the GSD.
Her intelligent side is what makes her want to learn more and figure out life's greatest secrets. She is eager to learn everything and will jump right into anything that means she could learn more about it. She is so full of life at times because of this but will hide it away to do the stress and anxiety she has. While she has her eager to learn self, she also wants to be the know-it-all of the group. Seeming to be the one who gets everything right and is sometimes a pain about it and will rub it in.
Another side of Willa is her quiet, sweet, nurturing side. Willa will sometimes come out of her shell to be like this, but rarely will she, since it's kind of hard to with all the animals that live in the house. Still, one way for her to get out is to go herding with are very own Comet. Herding also helps Willa out with the stress, which Comet also helps with that. Sometimes you just need to have others help you out to get better and comfortable in your new home.

Relationship with SCS Pet: Comet. Willa has seemed to friend Ms. Fuzzy Pants herself. The first dog to be brought home from SCS. The two get along pretty well, which is off to everyone. Willa has the soulless personality all the time, while Comet is always happy and will kill your ears when she barks. Still, Willa got pretty close to Comet in the time she has been here. Plus Comet has this odd way of making everyone calm about most everything and this helps with Willa's PTSD. The one issue we have seen is they get a little competitive when herding the sheep on the farm and this isn't a good thing since we don't want them scaring them too much. We watch this often and have to call out to them or send poor Groot after them. Another thing we have seen is flirting. As most know, Comet is one of are Homosexual babes at the farms. We find this odd since not all animals are supportive of that way of picking a mate. Still, Willa seems to find out when Comet is flirting and will do it back to her. So, it's kind of a secret romantic relationship going on between the two.

Backstory: Aplha was abandoned at birth, left to grow up on his own in the wild. As a little pup, he knew had to walk, but couldn’t fully open his eyes yet. So he was left to wooble around looking for his family. Luckily, a small pack of coywolves took him in. He grew up and learned how to hunt with his new family. One da6, while hunting, he got kicked by a huge elk and was wounded in the leg. His pack didn’t know how to take care of him and he searched for some sort of plant to help heal his wound.

While stumbling through the woods he found a strange place. The firmilar yet distance smells all came back to him. It was the place where he was born. Where the humans lived. He searched for so long for something to heal his wound that he was growing weak. He ended up laying down in an ally to have some rest. Some shelter workers ending up picking him up and taking them back to the shelter to get his wounds fixed up. They weren’t deep nor fatial, just a large cut sliced by the hoof of the elk. No scars where left behind.

After a couple days of waiting in the shelter, a man came in search of a new pet. Looking at all the dogs he came across Aplha. It was a perfect match. The man adopted him and took him back to his house. Alpha was easy to train yet always had the urge to return to the wild. Yet, he loved taking care of the man as well as having his own territory to protect. The man takes very good care of him and treats him like royalty. Aplha loves getting groomed as well as having fresh food every night. Aplha and his new owner enjoy hunting with each other weekly. The man was shocked at how good the dog was at hunting. I guess it may have something to do with his history...

Backstory:

Well, you see, Menchi was born in a litter of pups, to a hunter and his wife. Being nomads, they would move homes and places a lot, so they had to sell the pups, all but Menchi. This was the male and female's last litter, and they were also becoming to old to help the man with hunting and herding anymore. That's right, the man had a small herd of goats (for making milk and cheese, at those times they stayed in one place long enough), and a horse and very small cart. Menchi, as a pup, would get into a lot of trouble, trying to jump from the cart where he was placed because sometimes there were very long hours of travel.

As he grew bigger and stronger, he was kept in the cart less and less, allowed to walk alongside the horse that the man and his wife would ride on, at other times walking beside them as they traveled on foot, to give the horse a bit of a break as he also had to pull the cart. The goats were a bit of trouble, but the horse would neigh at them and startle them back into a herd of sorts. When Menchi was old enough to start training to herd them, the horse did this less and less. At the time Menchi finally came to know how to keep those goats in line, the horse completely stopped neighing and whinnying at the goats.

Menchi was quite happy with his life as there herder, protector and companion, and at one or two points in their travels he actually managed to scare wolves away, though these were adolescent wolves away from their pack, that knew nothing about trying to take on a dog. The wolf-dog was so happy to be with the man and his wife, that he'd often seem to dance, and would even howl along the way at times. However, this was not to remain, his happy life would soon shatter...

The dog, still young, herd a lone goat in the distance a few weeks after they reached a large wooded field with a nice natural stream, and seeming to think it was one of theirs, he took off into the woods to try and locate it. He couldn't find the goat, and trying to find his way back he only ended up becoming more and more lost. He eventually found his way to a small village, and someone picked him up and brought him to SCS workers. However, his owners had had no luck in finding him back when he vanished, and they'd had to move on again...Now, he's found a home, in Danny and Brianin (yes, since Danny likes hunting, I decided it fit).
