His first pin was hand-crafted by Ace's father before he was sent overseas to train in a French military to become a fighter pilot.

Meaning/representation
His pin has a huge connection with Ace. It gave a sense of connection with his family; so if he was homesick he would glance at his pin to remind why he's here; to serve and protect his country. It somewhat made him better. The pin was also considered a lucky charm and would always have it equipped when he was out observing enemy troops. It got more rusty as the months went by however it still kept it's significance. Ace still owns and puts on the pin till this day.
