Hello! Welcome to Stone Creek Animal Shelter. We are a non-profit shelter that relies on donations to keep this place up and functioning properly. All animals are welcome to this shelter, whether found as a stray or abandoned by their owners, but we like to focus on all pitbull/staffordshire terrier mutts- a very misunderstood dog!
All adoptions are free, we just want to make sure you're well-suited to take your new family member home. You must fill out a form in order to try and adopt a dog.

How will you gain her trust?:She was crouched in the corner of the cage with her tail between her legs, not making any eye contact with me. I cooed and put my fingers between the cage bars and called her name softly. She made some eye contact, but was still afraid. I brought out a small snack and held it against the cage. She sniffed the air cautiously and slowly walked over. She licked the bacon flavored snack and took it slowly. She allowed me to pet her soft fur between her eyes. She did not go back to cower in the corner, I knew this was a start.

How will you gain her trust?:
Using positive reinforcement, I would keep treats in my hand
and allow her to approach me when she is ready. As she realizes
that people are good things, Ill help her to build confidence with
lots of treats and love. I'd help to work her on some fitpaws
so she gains confidence with using her paws to climb and have fun.
Once she is ready, I'd begin her in dock diving, which will improve
her trust and confidence even more.

How will you gain her trust?:
I would gain her trust by slowly encouraging her with treats and affection and teaching her that her surroundings aren't out to get her maybe training in a sport like agility or frisbee and introduce her to Juno, Oberon, and Gravity so she has other dogs to play and bond with allowing her to socialize and learn that no matter what she has family.
