Ghost: Hachishakusama. "Eight Feet Tall"- A female Japanese spirit that abducts children and makes a strange noise "Po... po... po..."

The story of Hachishakusama first appeared posted on the japanese site 2chan on August 28th, 2008. She is described as a thin ghost, eight feet in height, with a voice that varies from masculine to feminine, while appearance ranges from that of an old woman in a tattered kimono to that of a young maiden in a white funeral shroud. Subjects targeted by the Hachishakusama must be alone and between the ages of 3 to 17 years. Subjects that do not seek adult intervention disappear mysteriously and are never found. If intervention is sought out, the subject of interest must be shut in a room with papered up windows, salt in the corners, a buddha statue in a small wooden box, and a paper talisman. The subject should stay in this room all night, alone, until 7am. The spirit will begin tapping windows, calling, and imitating trusted relatives in an effort to trick the subject into exiting. The subject must not exit the room until 7am, not matter what. If and when the disturbances begin, the subject should pray to the buddha statue in the room for protection. The room is only a way to allow the intervening adult to get help for a more permanent solution. The materials needed are a van that can sit 9 people in the back three rows, plus driver and one extra front seat, as well as at least two paper charms. People needed are eight adult blood relatives of the subject, a driver, and a person of holy or spiritual importance who is familiar with the specific chant needed for what will follow. Subject should be seated in the center of the middle row of the three, holding a paper charm. Subject must look down with their eyes shut for the duration of the trip, and must not look up or open their eyes. The blood relatives will be seated surrounding the subject on all sides, while the driver and holy person sit in the front of the van. Driver should begin driving, and the holy person should begin chanting. The spirit will begin to cause disturbances such as slapping the car and vocalizing. If the subject's charm turns black during this period, they should immediately be given a new one. When all disturbances cease the subject can be considered 'safe', but should never return to the location or area of the first encounter.

Supposedly the spirit was once contained in a small village shrine, but was released after a Jizo statue used to bind it was broken. However, there is no solid evidence of the spirit ever being contained, as the original story hasn't been traced or proven. It is not advised to read the original 2chan story post or a direct translation, as supposedly the spirit may trace a subject via that.

Ghost: In France we have a pretty well known haunted doll, named Robert (approx one meter high) :

Robert is a doll not as the others, he has a terrible reputation: that to be possessed by one or several malefic spirits. This doll formerly belonged to a painter and a writer of Key West, in Florida, who kept him all his life. It always exists and became an inescapable attraction for the amateurs of paranormal who are going to see her to the museum where it is exposed. (His story inspired "Kids Play (Child's play)").

This story begins in 1906, when the young Robert Eugène Otto (4Yo) is offered a doll. This woman was a bahaméenne and a pratician of the voodoo culture. She was particularly irritated of the treatment by the family Otto towards her and wished to take revenge by offering this poisoned gift to the young Eugène.
He immediately fell in love with the doll, he gave him his own name: Robert. From this moment, he received as a nickname "Gene". Strange thing, this doll seemed made for him, it looked like terribly like him. They were now inseparable. One day an adult blamed Eugène for something and he answered " it is not me it is robert! ".
The young Eugene had long discussions with his doll. His parents seems to have heard his answers and believed that it was only the child who changed his voice. They began to doubt, however, for a time they had the strange impression that the voice was really coming from Robert. His voice was also very serious, like that of an adult. They said they had heard him laugh, sometimes in the middle of the night.
Sometimes Eugene had terrible nightmares, wokes up shouting. One evening, the parents heard a real uproar from Eugene's room. They found the room upside down, the furniture was overturned, and Eugene sitting on his bed pointing at the doll with his finger.

His doll seemed to torment him, but not only him, it disturbed the whole family. His parents claimed to have seen changes in expression in the doll's eyes and that she sometimes seemed to change places without Eugene moving her. Their neighbors reported seeing the doll looking through different windows in one day, while everyone was away and the house was empty.
The parents decided to send Robert to the attic so that their child would find a peaceful sleep. The doll was to remain there for several years and became a forgotten secret.

And several years later ...
Eugene, now married to the woman of his life, became a painter. When his parents died, he returned to the house he had just inherited. His wife was named Anne, and her husband had never told her about his strange doll, nor of the attraction he had over him. In these circumstances, she finds herself somewhat confused when Eugene announces to him, a few days after they moved, that he intends to make a room in the attic for Robert. "Who is robert?" She asked.
When her husband presents the doll to her, she can not help laughing. But Eugene didn't found it funny.
In the attic he built a comfortable room for Robert, and he even had a small piece of furniture and a wardrobe.
His wife learns quietly to do with the curious habits of her husband. She knew she had married an artist who was marginal, so she tolerated seeing him spend time with the doll. However, the latter makes her uncomfortable, her eyes are oppressive. She never goes to Robert's room. After some time, she begins to find disturbing her husband's habits and to doubt her mental health particularly the day he tells her that Robert was angry and that he didn't want to stay in this room anymore. He wanted to have a room with one of the windows. He was then moved to his well-lit room, from which he could see the street.

The Black-Eyed Children
.....Whether they're ghost, demons, or aliens a general view of the black-eyed children is that they are terrifying and bring misfortune behind them. Pop-culture has been telling stories of them since the 1990s, encounters with children between the ages of 6 to 16 with solid black eyes. Often panhandling, hitchhiking or showing up at residential homes.
.....The first story I heard was thanks to a youtube video. Where the children showed up on the doorstep of a couple in the middle of winter at night, not dressed for the weather at all. They asked to come in and the couple agreed, when asked where their parents were they responded "They'll be here soon." While they were there the couple's cat hid under a table hissing and growling while staring at the strangers. The man was left alone in the living room with the children, while the woman made drinks in the kitchen.
.....When she came back with the hot cocoa, her husband was leaned over holding his head saying he was dizzy. As she went to hand the kids the drinks they looked at her for the first time and to her shock their eyes were completely black. The children ask to use the bathroom and leave the room for the hall. The woman turns to her husband to ask if he had seen their eyes. When he looks up his nose is bleeding, then the power went out. As she was making her way to the bathroom to grab something for his bloody nose.
.....When she got to the hallway the children were just standing there, they say "Our parents are here." before walking out of the house leaving the door wide open to the chill. When she went to the doorway and looked out there were two tall men dressed completely in black standing in the driveway. She waved but they gave no reaction before getting in a car and driving away with the children. In a short while the power came back on and they didn't see anything with the children again.
.....Things didn't go back to normal after this encounter though. Three of their four cats went missing, and one night when getting home they found the remaining cat dead. The man kept having nosebleeds eventually going to see a doctor, only to discover he had an aggressive form of skin cancer. This type of skin cancer is usually caused by rigorous use of tanning beds, which he had never used in his life. The woman has said that she felt dizzy and experienced nosebleeds as well.
.....That isn't the only story floating around about the black-eyed children, just a simple google search can find plenty more. Everyone seems to experience back luck as a result of encountering the children. The urban legend even has a movie about encounters.

La Llorona has two different tales about her before her death. One as a woman who enjoyed the admiration of men so much that she would leave her two young sons alone for long periods of time. it lead to the neglectful drowning of her two sons, though it is said to be rumoured to have been by her own hands. The other is of a woman scorned by her ex-husband who flew into a rage causing her to drown her two sons in the river.

It is said from there that she went into grief and mourning, so much so that her wails could be constantly heard as she cried for her children. Wailing until her own death along the same riverbank. Since then she has been heard wailing and seen walking along the banks of rivers. Looking for her lost children. Looking to take them back with her.

It's said that her wails are a warning to children. A warning to flee for if they stray too close, she is bound to snatch them, without mercy or hesitation, and drag them into the water where they are unable to escape. Some say she'll take anyone who strays too close, but children are her main target.

Named the Grey Lady, she watches over the Children's room, and seems to appear mostly to kids, though adults have seen her as well. She's seen most often simply manipulating her environment - adjusting lights, opening doors, moving books, and turning faucet handles.

Her presence, at least when I visited, was calming and benevolent; it's almost unnerving how safe and welcome it feels, and I couldn't stop getting the jitters... Though she has never harmed anyone (possibly outside the spooks), and is, in fact, a 'friend' to those who work there. She's also noted to have a musky perfume scent to her.

Thought to be one of the original curators, or perhaps the daughter of the library's founder, she's also been notes to do a little traveling... While the library was under renovation, the curator at the time saw her wandering the hallways of her own house! Of course, she returned after the renovation was completed, watching over the children of Evansville with that strange, strange aura effect that she carries with her.

Fans of the Grey Lady can also watch for her in the Willard Ghost Cams, complete with a gallery of photos believed to show her wandering about.
