Loyalty can mean hundreds of things, but I'll only mention a few. The simplest one is sticking by your friends, and choosing them over something else. A little more complicated, but love. If you love someone enough, you wouldn't cheat on them, you wouldn't make them suffer in the feeling of being unloved. etc wip res lmao what

rowan is hardly loyal himself, but that doesn't mean he knows nothing of the word. he is perfectly aware of what the word really means, but it goes deeper than that for him. to rowan, loyalty is simply being true to one another. if you remain true, the rest will fall into place. sadly, he has never been very good at that. his definition of loyal may be sound, but his idea of 'being true' is more than crooked. and he's not proud of it, but it's just the way he is. it's hypocritical, really. he can become extremely hurt when those close to him are disloyal, yet he won't feel a damn thing when he's disloyal to them. someone needs to sort him out, really, but because of how unfaithful he is, he can't seem to keep the right people around long enough.

To Alex, loyalty is not kindness, it is not free, and it is not something easily given or received.
Loyalty is something that is earned over time, something that starts out fragile and tentative, something to be handled with care until it is fully established.
To Alex, loyalty is complete honesty, an understanding of personal boundaries, the willingness to throw one’s life away for another, and above all else; total trust. To her, loyalty and trust are one in the same.
Its as she always says, “I do not trust easily, so if I tell you I trust you, please don’t make me regret it.”
After all, trust is more like paper than anything else, and once it’s crumpled it can never be perfect again.

the brown pelted kalon was silenced as the more muscular figure before her gave her a stare, cutting her off without uttering a single word.
"its your mission. you're to leave this place, save yourself from the dangers soon to be placed upon everyone here. you swore to me that you'd obey my command."
konrad's eyes darkened, swishing her tail to the side before giving a snort. "i know, sir. but i can't allow you to give me this order. i can't do it." she muttered. now, however, she avoided his gaze. "i also swore my life to you. doesn't that mean anything?"
tensed silence fell between the two kalons, before the bigger one looked to his companion, giving a sigh. "it means everything - to have someone who would do that, any kalon would be lucky enough to have a companion like you. but i cannot allow you to do this for me. you need to leave, for yourself."
konrad looked to him, rage encased within her gaze. however, with her eyes falling upon his face, she saw how pained he looked, taking her off guard. "...sir?"
"you've been very loyal to me, konrad...your spirit, your determination. you're the living definition of loyalty, you know? that's why i cannot allow you to stay...you need to go out there, find others you can pledge your loyalty to."
