oh snap this dog is almost as gay as me whats up
so this competition is going to be an impress me with a minimal requirement; tell me about his relationship with his younger brother, geenji
in the shortest way of putting it, geenji is a total clumsy doofus whos too curious for his own good; hes not phased by a lot of things and its hard to keep his tail from wagging
otherwise you have no word/art limits, go wild; just make sure to follow the species lore and whatnot
if no form impresses me i reserve the right to keep this gay dog
thisll end on september 16; if you have any questions dont hesitate to dm or pm me

Show Name: GE Deception of the Dragons
Call Name: Hanzo (Han, Handsoap, and Zo if you dont treasure your life)
Gender: Male
Collar Color: Lightest Steel
Personality: Hanzo's personality is an interesting one. He's strong and braver than any other dog at his Kennels. He's extremely obedient, and takes his guarding duties very seriously. A very strong older brother figure to anyone, he closely watches over the younger dogs and keeps them out of trouble with whatever they may do. He doesn't like affection, and rarely shows it in any form other than a relaxed aura when his owner's pet him. You have to know him to read him, or else he always sounds serious or mean. If you know him, you'll be able to spot his little quirks, like how his ears relax and turn sideways when he's napping in the fields with his brother. Or, his lax muscles as he watches over the younger puppies that the kennels breeds. He's an older but strong soul, always a neutral figure to look to for advice. And, even if he won't admit it, he loves his brother as much as his job - if not maybe just a little more.
Relationship with Geenji:

Hanzo's relationship with his brother, Geenji, is a long and complicated one. Hanzo was born first, the only pup born in his litter. Geenji was born later from the same parent, with two other younger siblings. By the time Geenji was a year old and was getting stronger, Hanzo was already twice his age and size. Hanzo would protect his younger siblings, of course, family has always been important to him. However, he closely guarded Geenji specifically. There was something special to him, about this one.
When they reached their middle aged years, Hanzo was 4, and Geenji was a little younger at almost 3. They were both being brought to a recognized show to display their talents and how well their obedience training was going (moreso Hanzo than clumsy Geenji).
No one is quite clear what happened, but during an intermission someone had been poking around their things, eyes on taking a couple of the younger pups their breeder had brought. None of the humans seem to have noticed, but Hanzo could smell his unwelcoming scent from where they were. Breaking free from his owner, it didn't take long for him to track down the man and promptly jump on him, canine teeth digging into the intruder's arm. Although yes, he had caught a criminal, he would not let go of the man until his owners had to pry him off after agonizingly long minutes. This caused a huge scene at the national show, and his owners contemplated what they were going to do with such an unruly dog. They were scared of him.
anger
Disappointingly, they had sold Hanzo to another man as a guard dog for his small Malik herd. They were heartbroken, Hanzo even more so. Although his brother got on his nerves and watching after him was a chore, he loved Geenji and his silly antics so much he couldn't even put it into words. Their goodbye was cut short, and Hanzo watched as all he'd ever known was ripped away from him.
Two years later, and Hanzo had heard the news that they were getting new neighbors. He had been sold two other times since that first goodbye said to his home, and was now living under the roof of a wealthy man and his husband at Gainsboro Esker. He was one of the top guard dogs there, and given his older age at 6, was cared for and beloved like a family pet. When the new neighbors brought their dogs over to greet the others and get everybody off on the right foot, Hanzo was floored. Among their Hissans, Geenji stood before him. Older and now mature, Hanzo couldn't believe his eyes. Their reunion was a joyful one Hanzo never thought he would get to experience.
Now, it's been a few months since that moment. Geenji and Hanzo promptly hang out any chance they get, and Hanzo never thought he'd be so happy to see his annoying, clumsy little brother fall back into his life.

Username: D.J.D VosKennel Link: SOHShow Name: SOH The Twin Serpents' ArcherCall Name: HanzoGender: MaleCollar Color: dark steelRelationship with Geenji: Hanzo is... tolerant of his brother. The relationship mainly consists of Hanzo giving Geenji looks that range from 'what are you doing, stop that.' to completely and utterly appalled. He does truly love his sibling, however, and does his best to keep his hyperactive younger brother from getting himself hurt. He makes sure Geenji doesn't get into things he shouldn't, like bad food, dangerous critters like wild snakes, or other canines who are less than friendly. He's known to lose his patience with the younger hissan at times, especially when the doofus gets himself into trouble multiple times in one day. He's never actually viciously snapped at Geenji, but he'll growl and bare his teeth when enough is enough. Geenji is the only other canine that can actually get Hanzo to 'play' given enough harassment. Though this 'play' is little more than the older Hissan lightly batting at and trotting after his brother while the younger dog bounds around. Hanzo also does his best to steer any of the horses he's guarding away from his little brother, since the younger hissan is afraid of them. He doesn't like dealing with his brother when the other is angry, since he immensely dislikes being involved in drama, but with enough grumpy persistence from Geenji Hanzo'll pay attention and work on properly settling him down. If he really doesn't want to deal with Geenji but can't get away, He'll sit down on a rock, stick his nose in the air, shut his eyes, and just ignore the other Hissan until he's pushed over and falls onto the ground. After incidents like this, Hanzo will generally get up and try to walk away, only to get (on occasion) pounced on or further harassed. Hanzo gets to see his younger brother quite regularly, despite not belonging to the same kennel.go wild.Personality: 'Kinda grumpy, serious, watchful big bro who doesn't have time for his lil bro's crap but puts up with it anyhow cause he cares even if he acts like he doesn't in public'. Also pretty easily guilted and gets stuck on his failures and mistakes. Gets super standoffish when said mistakes and failures are brought up and can stay like this for hours. He's super stubborn when it comes to training, and it's his way or the highway in 99% of cases. Hanzo is the kind of dog that doesn't actually wag his tail much, even if he's happy. The hissan keeps his posture straight and on alert constantly if he's on duty, but if he's off duty and getting a break from Geenji's antics he's often asleep and curled up in one of the empty stalls. Is Tired of His Bro But Still Cares (tm). Hanzo is pretty awkward around female hissans and prefers to avoid them whenever possible, and he gets free reign over the non kennel areas and a sleeping spot in the main house because of that. He travels quite frequently for shows and gets rather angsty if he doesn't get to stop by to see his brother.Non-Sibling Relationships: Fractum- Hanzo guards the black and white broodmare with a single minded intensity whenever he's on duty. Since Fractum is the only Malik at Silver Oasis so far, so the male Hissan has to share his duties with three others. However, as the stable grows, hopefully Hanzo won't have to share his preferred charge anymore. The Hissan will often choose to sleep with the mare in her stall rather than sleeping in the main house when he's allowed.
Cleo- Hanzo avoids Cleo as much as possible, even more than usual, given the caramel Hissan's tendency to rather viciously try to attack other dogs she wasn't raised with. He's not afraid of her, but he's definitely more wary of her than he usually would be.
Osteo- Hanzo is slightly more comfortable around Osteo than he usually is around females. It might be due to the fact that Osteo neither acts like a female nor pays much attention to him. It might also be the fact that both of them share a similar loyalty to their designated work. They aren't friends, aren't enemies, and are mostly just neutral towards each other.
Fenna- Fenna runs away from Hanzo, Hanzo runs away from Fenna. Win Win.Quirks: Hanzo is very attached to a set of blue dragon plushies made out of towel material. He was sold with them and keeps them safe in his crate when on the road. They are one of only two things that can make his tail wag, the other being a visit to his brother. Hanzo is also quite the howler when on duty and his charge is in danger, and the vocalizations are quite effective at scaring predators and possible thieves away. He is not super talkative beyond that. The Hissan isn't a very cuddly dog either, though he is known to rest his head on his handler's knee and shut his eyes for several minutes at a time.
