name; Nomad
gender; Male
pet snake name; the snake prefers to go by Regal
The sun was settling low in the world above, the resultant inky pitch color filling the shallows.
The waters began to sway more heavily, pulling in toward the shore to fill the beaches it couldn’t
reach during the day. The message was clear. Off again he was, then. The littering of crab shells
and bits of reed left floating transient were all that saw him go. He wasn’t allowed to stray for
too long, a self-imposed rule and one that secured his safety.

The tides were pulling heavily above him, dragging against his fur and scales with the casual
threat of beaching him. He hurried out of the area, the message had been clear. Cooler, deeper
waters greeted him and he sank into them heartily. Who would he be here? It wasn’t likely he’d
come across anyone, but the extra layer of lies always worked to defend him rather than incriminate
him. Perhaps he could impersonate Bangpūtys. This fish around this part would be stupid enough
to fall for it and readily fall into his paws as an offering. It would also be good practice at mimicking
a god the lvlais had little experience with.

Just as his thoughts were running away from him, there was movement beside him. He tensed,
prepared to flee rather than fight, until he felt it silkily sliding its way around his neck and poking its
face into the lvlais’ ear until he flicked it in irritation and shook his fur violently in a warning. He was
not partial to dislodging the little sea snake and leaving her behind. He had done so many times before.

Regal, as her name seemed to be, merely snickered in the choked off hissing noise all sea snakes of
her type seemed to do. But she also curled only tighter around the lvlais’ neck, excited to see the
newest chapter in his life be revealed. The Lvlais wasn’t sure when she’d appeared, only that she
had been with him ever since, even when there were miles separating them after he tried to get rid
of her. Her name, which he had so struggled to find after various naming attempts left him with bite
marks marring his muzzle, was the only thing that fit her snobby attitude and refined, scaly appearance.

For whatever reason, she had not grown bored of him yet. Regal seemed interested in the tale of her
Nomad, even if she’d missed out on the first few chapters that had sent him running in the first place.
He’d never tell her those stories, never the name that partnered them, but Nomad made up for it with
the ones he crafted in the moment to hide behind as he wandered aimlessly through the cold waters.
