their relationship with the sea:
(no limits)
Aquiris and the Sea... a very well known tale that has been told through many generations. A story that captures the attention of many who wish to receive the knowledge that she gained from her extensive journey. However, the tale has sadly been manipulated by others who thought a certain event happened instead of a real one,
and because of this, the original story has been lost in the waters of multiple versions of the tale. The original story has been forgotten... until today.
Now, you will hear the real tale of Aquiris and the Sea. Use your imagination to picture the beginning of this story - a Kalon named Aquiris, her crew, an enormous ship with huge sails, and the all too familiar sea.
I suppose you might think that Aquiris was a... pirate, but you are sadly mistaken, my friend. You see, in her world, pirates are beings who take the sea for granted. She has decided that she would honour the sea to the fullest, and this determination has led her to become a captain of her own ship. A small overview will suffice.
Aquiris has a crew of 15, who help her sail across the waters of the world. The name that she gave her ship is The Excalibur. The reason for giving her ship this particular name is because her parents had a ship with the same exact name before they passed away. Yes, her love for commandeering has reached her through many generations.
Enough idle chatter.
Aquiris, one day, received a mission from an unidentified being. She was walking along the shores of the calm beach when a wave splashed over her. Now, this happens often when she is close to the sea, but this time it was different. The waves splashed her for about five times in a continuous pattern. Once the waves ceased their splashing, Aquiris noticed that something was off, so she dove into the water and swam to the bottom. A mysterious glowing object was shining on the seafloor. Of course she was curious, so she took the object with her mouth and swam to the top and back to the shore.
She arrived back on the calm beach, where she examined thoroughly. Her findings were the following:
1. The object seems to be like a bottle of some sorts.
2. The object inside the bottle seems to be glowing, not the bottle itself.
3. The bottle has water inside; however, the object inside the bottle doesn't look the least bit wet.
4. The object inside the bottle is an obvious thing: a piece of paper.
Here is where the multiple versions come in. Some say that instead of a piece of paper, a shell with writing was inside. Others say that it was sand from the ocean floor. Truth be told, the original item inside the bottle was a piece of paper - well, more precisely parchment. Aquiris was indeed curious, so she opened the bottle and emptied its contents. The piece of parchment fluttered down and landed on one of the waves that arrived back at the shore. Aquiris panicked, hoping that the note wouldn't be washed away. However, the waves stood still, and the parchment looks the least bit wet. The waves rose up towards her as if to splash her again, but instead, the waves reached to about her shoulders a few feet away from her. The waves acted as a stand for the glowing piece of paper. Aquiris cautiously walked up to the water stand and looked at the parchment. A message was inscribed in it:To whoever reads this sacred object,
You have been chosen by the sea. For what reason, you may ask? Oh, for multiple reasons, young one. The sea is almost as if it is another world. It is a vast place, perfect for evil schemes to arise. You have been chosen because you show potential. Your love for ocean has brought us to you.
If you indeed heed this request and accept, assemble a crew who can be loyal through thick and thin. A ship would also be necessary.
We greatly appreciate your actions.
Aquiris was obviously confused. The reason is that the recipient has not been included in this mysterious note. Also, when she nodded her head, the piece of parchment disappeared into the stand, and the waves returned to being part of the ocean. Curious, she flicked her tail, which caused for the waves to splash onto the shore. She flicked her tail upwards, and the waves rised to the same height as her head. She flicked her tail down, and the waves lowered back to sea level. Aquiris tilted her head in confusion and in awe. Aquiris looked about her, making sure that nobody was watching her. She decided to embark on the journey laid out by the sea, and started to look for a faithful crew and a strong and comfortable ship.
So, Aquiris now has the power to control the ocean. Now, now, she didn't take advantage of this talent. Aquiris treated the sea as a friend, and the sea treated her as a friend. This friendship has lasted for many years, and it still continues today. Aquiris did, in fact, assemble a crew and find a ship, and the sea showed its gratitude by giving Aquiris a gift. It was no ordinary gift, however. It was a gift....
From her parents.
As mentioned before, her parents passed away. However, the cause is unknown. The sea's gift was left by her parents. There was even a note on the paper that was wrapped around the object. The note said the following:Our dear daughter,
We are so proud of you. We have watched you from our place, and we think that you made the right decision. We love you, and we thank you for everything.
Love,
Your mother and father
This small but special note made Aquiris cry. She haven't felt this said for a very long time. She decided to open the gift that her parents left for her. It was a family portrait of all of them together, all on the original Excalibur. Aquiris continued to cry until no more tears left her. She smiled and looked up at the sky. Thank you, she thought as one more tear left her right eye.
Some think that the sea and Aquiris are just friends, but surely they jest. It is quite obvious that she and the sea are more than just friends.
The sea and Aquiris are like family.
