-where he lives-
The calm breeze blows the palm leaves ever so slightly, creating a soft, rustling noise. With the waves crashing in the background, and the children laughing, it was paradise. Navagio didn't want to live anywhere else.
Then he woke up.
He was laying in his bed on the top floor of his two story house, located in downtown San Francisco.
Ugh, how he hated the city. The pollution, the noise, everything. He would rather be at the beach, laying in the sun all day,
swimming in the beautiful ocean. But
no, his parents had to work here. In the dirty city.
His parents never wanted a vacation in a tropical paradise. They would much rather go to other cities, such as New York City and Tokyo.
So he was surprised when his parents told him they were going to the beach.
He packed his swim trunks, his towel and many more things for their week long trip. Then they loaded up and left.
They were taking this vacation in mid-Janurary. They arrived and Naviago jumped out, hoping to see kits his age. But the beach was practically deserted. He was confused at first, but then decided that everyone was probably eating. It was near supper time.
Speaking of supper, Naviago was
starving.
At supper, he decided to ask his father why nobody was at the beach.
"Papa, why was the beach so empty/" He asked, his voice filled with curiosity. His father cleared his throat.
"Well son, the beach isn't always busy. People visit during the summer and leave in the fall. They're aren't many people who actually live here."
The week passed, and it was a rather
boring week. Naviago had nobody to play with like he did back home.
When they arrived back in San Francisco, Naviago went to his room and lay on his bed. He was thinking about the beach.
Sure, it was pretty there. But it was really lonely in the winter. Here, you always had someone to play with. Not there. There were also some things he didn't know he'd miss. The lights when it gets dark out, the Golden Gate bridge and his friends.
Naviago came to a conclusion. Sure, the beach was nice as a vacation, but he was good living right where he is.
