why? Lina grew up in a poor small town where she had nothing to eat but scrapped porridge. Lina doesn't know how the lychee tree came to be in her backyard, but the fruits it grew proved to be a miracle. Although the scrappy little tree didn't produce much, it was a hidden luxury she enjoyed with her mother in secret. Even as she worked her way out of poverty & into the city, lychee has always been her favorite food. Lina is very thankful for what she considers a "blessing fruit", eating it reminds her of her childhood days where she struggled but also made a lot of good memories in.

"Well, I tried phở for the first time just last week, and I loved it! My friends make fun of me because my favorite things are always changing, I kind of get over-excited about new things and end up obsessing over them. It isn't just food, it's places, smells, animals, TV shows...any new and interesting thing just gets me riled up. So, right now, it's all about phở. I love the texture of the rice noodles, the savory broth, and the sauces!! Sriracha and Hoisin and hot chili oil...the flavors are so diverse and EXCITING and NEW. So, yeah, my favorite food will probably change in a week(my best friend is taking me to try oysters for the first time next Tuesday), but that's just how I am!"
