evergreen is passionate about hair ties. i know it sounds quite funny but she does.. she likes to travel the world to discover and learn about plants! she always likes to take a part of her memories with her so she buys a hair tie or makes a hair tie when she goes on trips. she has a vast collection going from india to south korea, she keeps them all in a little box hidden in her bag.

what are they passionate about?

since elysium was a kit, his topaz eyes had always been set on rocks. whether they were diamonds or simple quartz, elysium saw the beauty in all of them, and willed for others to do the same.
after school had finished for the day and the other kalons had gone home, elysium would trek his way to the creek just down the road from his house, spending the rest of the afternoon hunting for more intriguing rocks for his ever-growing collection. as he grew older, his rock collection became dusty, and eventually thrown away; elys' interest now gone.
it was only when he hit high school that elysium learnt about the spiritual possibilities for gemstones. his interest piqued, elysium would borrow every book and read every article he could get his paws on, hungrily tearing through the information as though he were starved. it dawned on him that he could help others with these powers, and once more, the obsession was founded once more.

"my my," the mossy kalon purred, carefully kneading his paws into his customer's back. "you really are tense. let me fix that up for you, hm?" he continued, smiling warmly as he watched his client slowly, yet surely, relax. this was the best part of his job as a masseuse; knowing that such a simple action can help someone out. sure, it was pretty tiresome, but it was well worth the elbow grease, elysium thinks.
the hour's session done, elys happily waves his client off, who looked much less tense the than before, and sighs, letting his shoulders slump forward as he returns to his cottage door, laden with vines that decided to grow themselves over the oak. quickly flipping the "open" sign to "closed", elysium steps inside the cottage, ready to shut the door.
he almost didn't hear the frantic "wait!" from his driveway. raising an eyebrow, he watched as the frazzled kalon bounds up to his steps, breathing quite heavily. "sorry ma'am," elys said, smiling sympathetically. "I'm not doing massages from this time on." the other kalon shook their head, obviously not interested in the massages. "word on the street is that you have an extensive gem collection and uh, I was wondering if you could... educate me?" they asked, and elysium's eyes lit up. oh, how he loved talking about his gems. "of course, my dear!" he hummed, chirpy as ever. "come this way..."

"my favourite gem?" elys repeats, as you nod eagerly. he taps his paw against his chin, humming in contemplation. "well, I truly don't have one set favourite, but lately I've been adoring moss agate." he explains, grinning as he gently places a small box on the table. opening it up, you see a small, white and green stone, polished and glistening in the low coffeeshop light. "and why is that?" you ask, quickly jotting down notes before picking up the agate gingerly and rolling it around in your paws. "I adore the colour - I'd say it reminds me of myself, don't you think?" he pauses to wink at you, before launching back into his explanation. "believe it or not, this gem stimulates creativity and grounds you, and I must say, it certainly has done that for me." you nod, and realise you're done with the interview. passing the rock back to elys, he stops your paw and curls around yours. "keep it. may it give you as much creativity as it has to I." a warm smile lights up his face before he stands, walking out the coffee shop door and leaving you, paw curled around the gem.

Lei feels very strongly about the effects humans are having on the environment, often getting into "heated" discussions about global warming and how it is: "It all was caused by humans and their huge factories! The gases they excrete are so hot that they melt the polar ice caps, which destroys animal habitats, which gradually makes those animals go extinct-" and on and on and on she goes. Another way humans are affecting the environment - the way that Lei hates the most - is deforestation, which Lei absolutely abhors! All of those poor animals having their homes taken away from them, crushed beneath the jaws of humanity's mighty machines! And to top it all off, humans are just now noticing, yet still nobody is doing anything to stop it! Lei has taken things into her own paws by building a large community of treehouses amongst the largest rainforest in the world- The Amazon Rainforest, located in South America. She lives in one of those treehouses, and the others are home to many other Kalons concerned about how the ecosystem will fare if humans were to start taking down these trees. Lei, along with many other kalons, also go on rescue efforts to save animals being illegally hunted/poached, or animals that are having their habitat destroyed and bring them back to their little community, where they serve as ambassadors of their species for the preservation of wildlife. - - - WIP (236 Words)
