xXxextra (300 words or 1 art piece); Brush in paw, sweat dripping down my face, the sun beating against my team, this is what I call heaven. The air is full of dust as we brush away the dirt and sand from the old bones, fanning life into them, remembering what they were. Hours of hard work, often met with nothing, but today is different. I'm an archaeologist, my job is to dig for ancient bones, to find them and study them. I am the head of my team, they help me with the difficult task. I oversee it all. As I'm digging at the hard-packed ground, a shout comes from somewhere behind me. I glance over my shoulder to see
Jaden grinning and pointing at a hard, dirty white surface in the dirt before him. "Bridgette! I've got something!" He cries excitedly. The rest of the team follows me to the spot, dropping their shovels and picking up their brushes. We all crouch down and begin to brush, sweeping away the discouragement from previous digs. This one's a success.
Pride wells up in me as we pull the large femur from the ground at last. Jaden's grinning, the team is buzzing. I call them all to silence. "Guys, we did it, and not for the first time. I'm taking this to my lab where I'l examine it further. I can't identify much, but we may just have a new discovery on our paws. Nice work guys, especially you, Jaden."
